If they think Clingan is an all star then sure but I don’t think anyone believes he’s that kind of talent. Adams is only 30 and I could see us extending him so in that regard why replace him with someone that might just be a marginal upgrade?
I don’t love it, either. It actually came from looking at what the Lakers could offer for a Mitchell or Young, then thinking if we could match their offer. If the Lakers were to make the trade for Young, I think Atlanta goes full rebuild and trades Murray, too. Would #3+JG for Murray be a better fit?
Adams is an old 30 though. I thought it was great to get him as a stop gap, but I’m not sure how much tread is left on those tires. It will be very interesting to see how he holds up over the full season coming off a serious injury.
I doubt they’d trade Duren for anything, he’s going to be a stud. I’d doubt they’d trade Ausar either but I’d damn sure swap Brooks for him.
If the 3rd pick isn't worth a Mikal Bridges level player this draft, it makes more sense to gamble for a future top 10 pick. Those picks also can be traded. You wouldn't do this in a normal year. "No way am I giving up the 10th pick" is adjusting for the talent in this draft.
Meh. I'm of the opinion that this draft will have as much talent as any other. The guy you take at 3 -- a Reed or Clingan -- goes high in any draft.
#3+2027 Rockets FRP+Tate+Landale+Jeff Greenfor Bridges. Brooks+Green+2027 Nets swap(Top 6 protected) for Ingram. Extend both. Sign Melton with MLE. Sengun/Adams Smith/Eason Ingram/Cam Bridges/Melton FVV/Amen How many games does this team win?
Hate it. Soured on Bridges as a number 1. Ingram doesn't space the floor or stay healthy. I think we win more games, but only because Brooks was by far our worst starter last season and it isn't that difficult to do better than him. Wouldn't sell the house to go from a Nissan to a more expensive Infinity.
Trade 3 and Tate for 5 and Isaiah Stewart . Select Castle at 5. Detroit needs scoring. Send Dillingham to them. Sheppard or Castle are likely to be selected at 4, leaving one of them available for Houston. I prefer Castle over Sheppard, but I'm ok with the latter selection. Address 3 point shooting in free agency.
Garland (Rich Paul) sounding unhappy with Mitchell. You hate to lose our vocal leader and defensive organizer but what about FVV and #3 for Garland (yes we may have to sweeten the deal a bit more)? They can get a big forward with that pick. Garland is very Nash-like in transition and pace, would unlock our athletes and deliver a balanced offense. His talents are being wasted in a heliocentric Mitchell iso offense.
Dillon Brooks is on deck to be traded. We need a better cutter/shooter out there at SF, or we just need to start Amen.
Plenty of interesting names on the Free Agent list below below. Especially UFAs Just a couple, Nic Claxton, Gary Trent Jr. maybe a sign and trade with CHA for Miles Bridges, hard pass on Mikal Bridges. Am all in for trading #3. But if kept and Sarr doesn’t fall to the Rockets, just pick Sheppard and move on. Heck, sign Sarr’s older brother, Olivier (OKC) see if the staff can develop him. Depending on return, move on from Jalen Green. Coupling him and #3 would be interesting in a trade scenario. https://www.nba.com/news/2024-nba-free-agents
