Your responses still don't make sense.

My initial was blaming Espada for pitching Hader 4x in six days.

Doesn't matter what Hader or Mikwaukee's FO said.

Josh was trying to be a gamer same way JV was Game 4 vs Tampa. But day's end, it's the manager's decision.

    Jesus Christ.

Josh Hader has pitched a total of 4 innings and given up 3 runs on a couple of homers.

Sample size and use matter. He was dominant his first two games. Even his third game he was dominant but left a pitch a little two much in the zone and gave up a solo homer.

He shouldn’t have even pitched in his last game… it was his 4th game in 6 days and some no name crushed a bad pitch.

Maybe we should give him more than 4 innings before deciding it’s one of the worst signings in Astros history.

FWIW Pressly has an even worse era. Neris has an era this season of nearly 7 as well.

Espada should pitch Hader the final 3 innings in these games (get those saves!!!), because Josh said he'd do anything the team asked.

That's an astute point. That could give us the chance for (checks notes, subtracts 7 from 162, takes off shoes and socks to count down b/c fingers are busy typing...) 155 saves to go around.

    ERA
    Neris -- 6.75
    Maton -- 7.71
    Stanek -- 0.00

None have been overworked unlike Hader.

My response was to the poster who said Hader won't pitch more than 3 outs.

It was based on the Musgrove quote.

My fault for responding to your post instead of that one.

He's definitely taking the ball and doing whatever is asked of him.... I'm truly worried that its an excessive work-load to ever throw him for multiple innings or more than 30 pitches with regularity, and unfortunately we're seeing more and more of that thanks to every game seeming to be "must win" now.

Every utilization of him has been defensible. You just wonder with any pitcher, how much is too much.

Then again, signing any pitcher to more than a 3 year deal is a risk (per Nolan Ryan), and you live with the high injury risk given the nature of the position.

Dude's had a weird season. Only one blown save, but 6 losses.

He's been the best "closer" in baseball. Less dominant when holding.

when the score is 2-2, he sucks, when the score is 3-2, he's great. It's just bizarre

It’s not bizarre. Most of the games he has lost has come in the 10th, then the opposing team has the runner on second to start the inning. He is prone to long balls because he throws so hard. If any of those get down, or go out, and we don’t counter, he takes the L.

None of the 6 games he has lost have gone to extra innings.
