We also will be talking about the Rockets and the lottery results live before, during and after in the ClutchFans room
If we ever deserved a 7% chance, it is in this one. Give us our own pick top4 and the 9 as well (or make.both top 4!!) It would make for an exciting draft day - surely some kind of trade would be involved
If our own pick leapfrogs BKN's, then the 9th pick is no longer possible. We can get 4th and the 10th.
That's fine. I don't have much hope though. I have the feeling the Mermaids will get the 1st and the 7th pick. Utah might rise to the top as well.
i’m so glad the actual drawing is never actually shown live, just to piss off all the looney toon conspiracy theorists who don’t acknowledge adam silver is a shining model of morality. may their tinfoils corrode!
It’s funny, this is the first draft where I’m pretty ambivalent about where the lotto balls fall. Sure there are some guys at the top that look like a tier above the rest, but even they have significant upside questions. A guy like Cody Williams could easily be the best player in this draft 3 years from now vs Sarr. I’ve grown comfortable with the top 9 or 10 players in this draft, but am setting my expectation lower for these prospects generally. It’s kind of nice not to be stressing out like the last 3 lotteries where picking top 3 or 4 really mattered.
I like Saar, Topic, Holland and Castle. Knecht is pretty good too. Only Saar and possibly Topic appear to have star potential. Risacher is overrated. Dillingham might be a weaker version of Trae Young at best, which might not be too bad for us.
Addendum: In addition to the above 7 players, I have Clingan at 8, Sheppard at 9 , and Buzelis at 10. I hope the Nets pick won't fall below 9.
I'm pretty much honed in on Knecht. If he's there at #9, take him. If we move up to #4, I'd probably still take him. Everyone is such an unknown, I'd rather have a Mike Miller over Darko any day. This is a draft where I think you always take the highest floor.
Is Clingan anything but an anachronism (Koncak?) in today's NBA though? "Decent mobility" all scouting reports say, at best, and we can all see it with the eye test.
