Did people forget last season that easily? First it was little off season with no WBC. Then it was dead arm. Then it was "out of shape". Then he's pitching game 7 of the ALCS.... He's here for awhile thanks to Brown's extension (or is that Bagwell? Jackson? Biggio?).... and they've been trying to figure out how to use him since 2020.
He wasn't a full time starter in 2022 either. If you can pick/choose the quarter or less of the season where he's feeling great, he has success. Nobody knows when or how those months are going to happen (except maybe Click who tried to keep him as an Andrew Miller-clone bullpen role). I was very happy he finally decided to have an off-season diet/training program. But when he had the "neck pain" (i.e. - fatigue/over-use) just 1-2 months into the season, it reinforced my previous concerns about his ability to be a full time starter.
The problem is Diaz didn't try. Y'all can ride Diaz's dick about his bat, but his handling of pitchers has BEEN TERRIBLE.
