Because if they’d posted that when Blanco had 3 strikeouts it would have been “BlanKKKo” which would have been monumentally stupid because of the connection to the racist group that wears white hoods and burns crosses.

I highly doubt the social media director was racist but it shows some heavy ignorance not to see how people would connect a bunch of K’s to the Klan even if there’s like 5 K’s. I personally think that’s a stupid thing for people to get worked up over but it’s the world we live in and a person in charge of tweeting for a pro sports franchise has to be aware of it.

I suspect the Astros were already dissatisfied with their social media performance and this was just the last thing that happened before they let them go.

As you might would guess, its Gen Z "Tiktok" culture. Popularized from black & lgbtq people. "Its giving" is basically shorthand of "That is giving off a vibe of being ___ ". It really appeals to women, who for some reason need to steal sassy black women zesty gay culture for their image. (Same way the "Yass queen, SLAY!" came about)

Then "Main Character Energy" is a new'ish term thats an offshoot of "big d**k energy". For confident types approaching the world like they're the epicenter of it (Main character syndrome is a negative term describing the super self-aborbed "Universe revolves around me" types. A level below narcissism)

Lot of people under 25 would understand. No surprise a young female social media manager is posting that way
