What does that mean though? NATO is all about collective defense, and there is no one running it, but a collective unit. So I don't understand what you mean. Can you be more specific on what you want the US to do and what you want the EU to do as related to NATO, rather than saying "running point" or "being at a distance role"? Are you talking about military spending by NATO nations? Or something else? If spending, what do you want to see? That's fine and all, but Americans should know the trade-off for prioritizing countries physically closer to us. Higher prices and potentially a supply chain that is more vulnerable and less redundant than one that prioritizes efficiency and redundancy. I did not state anything about a policy of keeping those regions (Asia, Africa, Europe) fractioned, so for now, I'm not responding to that.

Congress needs to put in a TRUTH in NEWS act, where you are responsible for telling the TRUTH if you call yourself NEWS and if you are not news, you need something that says OPINION on screen when it is not fact. Same for Twitter, FB and Tik-Tok - they should be responsible for what is on their platform being truthful. DD
That would be great, but unfortunately some of the biggest spreaders of false truths and propaganda are the nutjobs in Congress themselves, and they want people to believe fake news.
