take away udoka and fvv from last years rockets and have their only goal be to maximize losses, you don't think the rockets could get 20 wins last season even with a good alpi season?
Alpi isn't being called the greatest rookie of all time and a top 10 player in the league right? The most everyone said about Alpi is he is a 21 yr old all star caliber talent. Some posters on the board even say they wouldn't give Sengun the max. So you think Wemby is only that level of player or what?
Regardless what do you think? Do you think Sengun is already am MVP candidate like what people are saying about Wemby?
i didn't hear anyone say that about wemby but wemby is also a rookie who played only 30 mpg. Also, he started pretty slow so when people were saying he was a top 10 player, it was more that by the end of the season he was getting to that level, not overall the entire season. I think you just really underestimate how easy it is to lose when that's your main goal
Ok see this is where the excuses are. You know you aren't being truthful when you start downplaying the Wemby hype and act like him and Sengun are being discussed in the same way.
what exactly is your argument? that he's not a top 10 player? he's probably in the 10-15 range currently. I can say i literally NEVER heard one person say he was in the mvp conversation though
no, but i believe that unless you have a top 3 player if your only goal is to tank, it's really easy to win 20 games (if you're willing to play the guy really low minutes)
30 mins is not really low minute though right? How many teams in NBA history have a top 10-15 player and only won 20 games?
Ok so how come Spurs also won 20 games with the same roster before he arrived? That's a whole season or 82 games, 42 mins per game without Wemby. They only lost Jakob Purdle who Wemby replaced.
again, their goal was to lose as much as possible, it's why they played without a PG and stuff like that. Wemby can't control what happens when he's not in the game. He played in roughly 53% of the spurs minutes this season, that still leaves 47%. Wemby also didn't play like a top 10-15 player for the season, he played like that towards the end. I don't know how to look up on/off data that's just post allstar break which is when he was really really good
So Spurs weren't trying to lose in the year of the Wemby but were trying to lose in the weakest draft in years? He played 30 mins of a 48 min game, that's not 53%. Spurs were losing games left and right even after Pop stopped the shenanigans and Wemby turned it on or w/e.
