    Hamas can go to hell.
The Palestinian movement existed before them and it will exist after they are gone. The IDF can’t bomb it out of existence, but Hamas is just a symptom. Solve the conflict peacefully and there will be no Hamas.

Most "Palestinians" sadly don't want peace.

Who/what do you consider a Palestinian, and why do you use quotes around the word?

Islamic and Islamism are not synonymous.

PLO was until the 2000s a leftist armed resistance group who used terror openly. It supprorts Pan Arabism, Marxism, and Fatah is “Islamic socialism”. Until Oslo it was only anti-Israel.
Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim brotherhood. It is a terror group who swept into power in Gaza then ended elections. They’re Islamist. They’re not allies with the PLO. They share the same goals, but end the end result will be different.

Bibi openly said he wanted to empower Hamas because Hamas Islamist terror would delegitimize the whole Palestinian sovereign movement with the west.

Because he and others like him believe that since the Palestinians are made up of Arabs and other non Jews, they don’t belong there in the first place.
But Arabs are like Latinos, they’re not a monoculture.

It's weird that people don't acknowledge this.

"Palestinians" are Arabs. There has never been a country called Palestine.

Why do you care about what happens thousands of miles from you?

Did they just make up the name after the fall of the Ottoman Empire? And when did they “move in”?

Sure, there was never a country called "Belguim" until Julius Caesar made it so.

Not sure what the point is.

    Why Palestine?

    From Wiki:
The name given to the Mandate's territory was "Palestine", in accordance with local Palestinian Arab and Ottoman usage and with European tradition. The Mandate charter stipulated that Mandatory Palestine would have three official languages: English, Arabic and Hebrew.

In 1926, the British authorities formally decided to use the traditional Arabic and Hebrew equivalents to the English name, i.e. filasţīn(فلسطين) and pālēśtīnā (פּלשׂתינה) respectively. The Jewish leadership proposed that the proper Hebrew name should be ʾĒrēts Yiśrāʾel(ארץ ישׂראל, Land of Israel). The final compromise was to add the initials of the Hebrew proposed name, Alef-Yod, within parenthesis (א״י), whenever the Mandate's name was mentioned in Hebrew in official documents. The Arab leadership saw this compromise as a violation of the mandate terms. Some Arab politicians suggested "Southern Syria" (سوريا الجنوبية) as the Arabic name instead. The British authorities rejected this proposal; according to the Minutes of the Ninth Session of the League of Nations' Permanent Mandates Commission.

It’s called Palestine today because the British said so.

As for who it actually belongs to, it belongs to whoever is actually living there. Not who lived there at some point in history. The Jews live there and who call it Israel today belong there. But what about the Jews in Miami or Berlin? Or Baghdad? They belong in Miami and Berlin. And Baghdad. There is no such thing as birth right.

Oh I don't. If the Evangelical Christians, Crazy Muslims, Hardline Netanyahu'ers, American Politicians, End-Timers, Jewish Settlers and other various nutters want to build a wall somewhere, I'd love for it to be around the "holy land", lock them in and let them figure it out once and for all. Their bullshit is tiresome, and has been for decades, this tiny little pissant piece of land is standing in the way of global progress.

eta: one of my favorite Onion articles ever

    https://www.theonion.com/northern-irish-serbs-hutus-granted-homeland-in-west-b-1819566085

UNITED NATIONS–In a bold gambit hoped to resolve dozens of conflicts around the world, the U.N. announced Monday the establishment of Ethniklashistan, a multinational haven in the West Bank that will serve as a new homeland for Irish Protestants, Hutus, Serbs, and other troubled groups.
    ....
"This is truly a win-win situation," U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said. "War-ravaged peoples from all over the world finally have a place they can feel safe. And, for the Palestinians and Israelis already there, the presence of additional ethnicities should reduce any pre-existing stresses. Arabs and Jews will enjoy exposure to a glorious, multiethnic stew, and they will, in turn, have the opportunity to lead by example, serving as role models of peaceful coexistence."

We're on the same page, specifically the bolded section. Regardless of how much, if at all, my views align with those participating peacefully, I fully support their right and decision to protest.

I'll concede that ours can sometimes be an anxious culture as it is; now add the increasing vitriol and in some cases violence in these protests, and considering our long and decorated history of myriad folk trying to take us out, you can imagine how a good portion of us might take this **** seriously.

Everybody has the right to protest peacefully, that's the goddammn American Way.

There's no excuse for tearing **** up though, I don't care who "us/we/who" is.
