What changed? There are over 34,000 dead Palestinians in Gaza and the number is likely larger because that doesn't account for the missing that can be dead. Couple that with Israel going into Iraq to fight Hamas there as well. There are limitations - just like any other encounter. The Americans, Hamas and even Israeli leadership knows they will not destroy all of Hamas. They will go into Iraq, Iran and even possibly Egypt and Jordan. Further, the longer this goes on, the more people will join Hamas and/or reorganize under a different name with the same objective. Israel had a chance to stop Hamas years ago, but were more concerned with the PLO and Abbas - to the extent that they created the vacuum for Hamas to thrive.
