I thought I was being nice.

Sorry bub, call it like I see it. I see it that you are wearing rose colored glasses.

You're giving the team a pass. That's on you, more power to you.

You are claiming the Rockets planned 1) Levert/Jarrett Allen moves with Oladipo,
    2) wanted Oladipo to stay,
    3) coordinated the deal, with a Sengun draft pick a year later in mind,
    4) so basically, the Rockets passed on Jarrett Allen&Mobley because they knew they would get Sengun.....

    Sure

you can't say the Rockets nailed that without saying the Rockets failed on Garuba, Josh Christopher,
TyTy, Nix which must have been planned a year in advance as well. Ya reaching.

Don't treat me like ya did Skip Bayliss, Stephen A.....I'll knock the Sh*t out of you!!!

    (just messing with you)

The Rox only have a general plan in mind, the things they do are based on situation and the limited information they have.

If you look at Stone's strategy with hindsight it does seem like they are contradicting like getting Oladipo for win now but at the same time trading away Jarrett Allen, but the FO was just leaving themselves a way out. It's different from Morey's "all in" strategy that just hoses the franchise if they fail. Look at Philly now they have Maxey and nobody else, just a bunch of old and washed dudes and Embiid who is always injured.

    1. Passing on Allen was done because we are tanking and don't want to pay Allen. Allen was seen at the time as another Capela. Who is fighting to get Clint Capela?

    2. They passed on Mobley because Green had a higher ceiling and Mobleys dad had all that drama. Mobley and Allen are unrelated.

    3. Sengun was drafted as backup for passing on Mobley. We chose Green over Mobley, so drafted the 2nd ranked big man to complement Green.

    4. JoshC was a Thanasis/Mo Wagner pick. Just politics, Josh C was on the jet with JGreen being wined and dined by ownership before the draft.

    5. Garuba was a value pick. Garuba was mocked in the teens.

Personally I judge the FO given their limited information at the time. Stone regime isn't perfect but you can't deny their results. 6 talents and back to 0.500 record in just 3 yrs with a lotto pick on the way is amazing.

Evan Mobley 's impact is not more than Jabari Smith Jr's right now. Evan always has benefitted from Allen 's presence.

Again, I understand that you don't know what you're talking about, so we should just end this here.

Why discuss anything at all? It's not like we can do anything about it at any point in time--past, future or present. We're just fans sitting around talking...

If you don't want to discuss a topic just don't discuss it.

Cavs are going to be irrelevant once Mitchell leaves in FA.

We should be comparing ourselves to our actual competition in the West instead of the scrubs in the East who get to play the same terrible franchises 16 games a year to pad their playoff standings.

Next year is our step up or shut up year, if we don't get at least a 6th seed then our rebuild has really gone nowhere.

From the beginning Mobley was projected to be a solid allstar while Green a franchise or a bust. Both of them are following the trajectory with half speed. Perhaps they both need 2-3 years to meet the expectations.

I was against this idea at the time and I am even more so now. In fact with the benefit of 3 years of data and hindsight I find the suggestion quite baffling. In a redraft he goes 3rd at best.
I was a Mobley supporter but clearly knowing what we know now it should have been Barnes at pick 2*. The good news is that it doesn't matter that we wasted it on Green or missed out in Mobley because we still got the best player in the draft at the end of the day.

*Sengun is the clear number 1.

I think it's important to remember that it's not just Green vs Mobley.... Mobley is just one player from that draft who is better than Green, but there's SOO many more.

He's not just bad for the #2 pick, he's arguably not a top 10 player in an underwhelming draft class.

Regardless of Green vs Mobley, I still find it hard to get a future projection for almost everyone in that draft. It was a weird one.

That song is atrocious, from production to flow to the video all as silly as this thread.

Should have the foresight to swing for the fences for Barnes. But Stone was a rookie GM that doesn't want to steer away from the consensus and took the least risky pick.

Looking back now all 4 "consensus" too 4, Cade, Suggs, Mobley and Green have been underwhelming in their own ways.

The best player out of the draft are Sengun, Barnes and probably Wagner

Mobley wasn't the major Rockets' rebuilding mistake. That was Allen.

The only thing that saved that class for Stone was getting the best player later in the draft in Sengun. Still he pissed away the other 2 1st round picks he had taking Garuba and Christopher.

At this point Sengun, Barnes, and Suggs all look like keepers from that draft. I am starting to lean toward Suggs should have been the pick instead of Green.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Sengun is the best in the class, but he's certainly in the running.

The issue with the class was that there was no real stars and there was fools gold in Cunningham and Jalen Green at the top that makes the whole class look bad.... but there's several very good players in Mobley, Sengun, Barnes, Wagner, Trey Murphy, and Suggs has turned his career around after learning to shoot.
