There's no such thing as full time catching anymore. The fact that Maldonado played that many games last year as catcher was a major problem. Even realmuto didn't play that many games.
Dusty played Abreu at cleanup for months when he was the worst hitter in MLB. Dusty’s lineups were a fkn joke last season. The narrative that Dusty did a good job last season is ridiculous. He was awful. The Astros got into the playoffs out of luck. The Mariners and Rangers could have easily buried them but thankfully lost every time the Astros did down the stretch, which was often. The Royals sweep at home where they could have secured the spot, and maybe even an A’s sweep if I remember correctly, was embarrassingly bad.
