Patrick Beverley, Russell Westbrook Want Rings If Lakers Win Finals

Patrick Beverley said he couldn't wait to help knock the Los Angeles Lakers out of the playoffs after the team traded him away. Now, Beverley says both he and Russell Westbrook, another guard the Lakers traded away, want rings if Los Angeles wins the NBA Finals.

The Lakers traded Beverley to the Orlando Magic, where he was bought out before signing with the Chicago Bulls. Westbrook was dealt to the Utah Jazz, where he was bought out before signing with the LA Clippers.

Speaking on his podcast, Pat Bev Podcast with Rone, Beverley said he and Russell Westbrook agreed they want a ring if the Lakers win.

Beverley said Westbrook told him "Hey Pat, Lakers win, I want my ring." Beverley said he told Westbrook "Russ, we gonna be suited and booted, boy. I'm gonna be right there waiting on that ring."

When asked if they'd accept rings, Beverley said "Do I think Westbrook gonna accept the ring? Hell yeah, he ain't gonna say no to it."

As for himself, Beverley made it clear he'd accept a ring.

"If they win, you call me whatever the f*** you wanna call me, I'ma get that ring," Beverley exclaimed. "I might shed a tear. I'll give a speech."

I was hoping the news on Westbrook was going to be shams reporting that the clippers will not be bringing back Westbrook under any circumstance.

He will be more irrelevant this year than any in his career.
He may not even be fun to make fun of this year.

Kawhi falling to his knees, not even looking to see if Westbrook's shot went in, is an all-time NBA moment :D

Maybe Kawhi should draw up a play that doesn't involve a terrible leaning hero ball 3 if he doesn't want Russ to get the rebound (and Russ is always shooting in that situation wide open nic Batum or not)

Looked like he was just mad at himself for that terrible possession.

Instant karma. Typical westbrick the loser. He’s one of the last players in the league who should be acting like this when it comes to shooting.

I'm not a WB lover at all, but I give him credit for bouncing back some on the Clippers after the debacle with the Lakers. For just the second time in his career, he ate a small amount of humble pie and mostly played within his limitations.

The guy will be 36 in November and, IMO, should retire after this season. If not, I bet the Clips buy him out.

I doubt they buy him out. He's not great but I think he played ok for his $3.8MM salary (less than $1MM above the vet min for his experience level) this year in the regular season.

I do see him retiring as an option though if the Clippers don't bring back Harden and PG goes somewhere else in free agency. But, I think he comes back if they roll out the same squad again. They'll all have the false hope that they coulda made some noise if Kawhi was healthy.

I think having a legit PG in their top 8 or 9 makes sense for them and CP3 and Lowry should come cheap. Ring-chasing on the Clippers is an attractive option for many NBA players.
