I was debating on staying up late last night with the rumors swirling that the Texans might trade back in to the first round. Was feeling like shite from cigarette withdrawals, Have been off the smokes for 5 days now, glad I went to bed after all, and am primed for three picks tonight. Sans Marlboro's
Totally off the rails and nothing to do with this thread but it just popped into my brain (one of my specialties): Whatever happened to Aldine HS sports, they were a powerhouse back in the day (90's-ish) and you never hear about them anymore?
I don't get owners today. Just sit in your box and scarf up beer and nachos and let the people you hired to do football stuff do football stuff. It's not that hard. You have a license to print money, why so angry?
Exactly. I don’t even mind being invested, but damn let your guys do their job and don’t fight businesses saying that. Don’t even think that’s a hard ask lol
I understand we never know how a player will turn out but to me moving from 42 to low 30s for a third or forth but it guaranteed me the top true DT in the draft is a no brainer. Murphy is more of a DE but Newton would be dominant in our defense.
Injury history for Wilson is a disqualifier but you want to draft Newton who has a recent foot injury? Does not compute. btw: I'd roll the dice on either one, personally.
Crane screwed up #2 big time recently. This is after years of success so never forget billionaires are geniuses. More likely narcissistic, egotistical, immoral, etc... fine persons!
I said it last night: I'm fully expecting a run on players that the Texans would want between picks 2-1 and 2-us. Good thing is that after that crazy 1R there's a whole bunch of them still out there, so *somebody* has to drop, or Caserio should move up a bit for *the guy* that they really like.
WRONG THREAD, WRONG FORUM, WRONG ****ING SPORT ...and I thought this was a Safe Space. I'm trying to ignore the Astros as much as possible right now. It is a struggle that I haven't been accustomed to in about a decade.
Disagree. There's a huge difference in their past injuries. I'd definitely roll the dice on the best DT, who is Newton.
newton doesnt have a “recent” foot injury. He injured it in early 2023 and played the full year with it. And he has rehabbed it since then.
That stacked WR class should do Nick some favors. I have to think 3-4 more get drafted before 42. But at some point we know there's going to be a run on defensive talent. I'd love to see their big board to know where they have DT and secondary guys graded. If they move up into the mid-30s, I would hope the value necessary for that move wouldn't be that severe, but with a lot of the top interior d-linemen, defensive backs and linebackers still on the board, staying pat and drafting at 42 and 59 should turn out fine.
I thought it was a lisfranc thing that might be recurring, I do know he played all year on it. "Early 2023" is recent to me, lol, reminds me of: "You're retired when you don't know the calendar date...but you're pretty damn retired when you don't know the day of the week"
