@ROCKSS - I appreciate you and your post. However, it is standard practice on the left that rather extreme policies get pushed, and then the more moderate people on the left first say, no, it's not even happening, and then we all see that it is indeed happening. DEI, transgender, defunding the police, etc. - these are discriminatory policies which do affect many. You are a reasonable person so I think you actually think this stuff is not happening at the rate it is happening, but there are people much more to the left of you who indeed want all this stuff to happen, because they are captured by groupthink and cultural marxism.
It isn't even a matter of supporting or not supporting anything. It's a matter of the amount anti-woke are fixated on it vs. the impact it as for most people.
It's not happening on anywhere near the scale you think it is. Judging from what I've seen I'm probably the only one here who has had actual direct experience with a trans athlete. As stated before she didn't dominate either the division of her birth gender nor the gender she switched too. Out of 30 plus years as a coach, competitor, and referee I've only dealt with one other trans athlete in my sport and she wasn't an active competitor and quit Judo. As even the conservative Governor of Utah stated this is a miniscule problem. Minneapolis was the first city following George Floyd where the city council actually proposed a defund the police ordinance. That ordinance was soundly defeated at the polls. So even in the bluest part of a blue state defund the police didn't actually happen. I'm not aware of any other major city in the US that has actually defunded the police. DEI is a catchall phrase that applies to several different programs. Courts have already struck down several programs. Given that the US unemployment rate is under 4% it doesn't appear to have any significant affect on unemployment. Same thing with that illegal immigrants are taking our "jerbs". Crime rates in the US including violent crimes are at all time lows including in many urban areas. I'm sure there are people on the Left who want these things to happen just like you can find people on the Right who believe all sorts of crazy things. The internet is full of all sorts of alarmist and crazy stuff. Doesn't mean that any of that is widespread or an existential threat.
Even if @AroundTheWorld follows college swimming as closely as he does the Iranian hip-hop scene, you'd think it would still be possible to understand the rarity of such instances causing grief. Anti-woke might well be a symbol of impossibly gross miscalculation of scale. It's almost like someone who might have a very rare chronic disease. It affects their life immensely, daily, and could have real issues. But so few people have any interaction with it, that it isn't a huge issue in most people's lives. Fortunately for anti-wokeism there is a potential cure if the sufferers just wanted to a more realistic perspective. The problem is that people that over-focus on those issues might have the most inaccurate assessment of the issues since most people have no real interaction it, but they believe about half the country is actively involved in pushing woke-ism.
@Salvy There's woke and there's normal woke means you like Kathleen Kennedy Star Wars normal means you like George Lucas Star Wars
Woke means you want dudes in the women's dressing room at planet fitness Normal means you only want women and girls in the women's dressing room at planet fitness
So almost zero people are woke. This is probably the only person who is like that. None of the people that are called woke on these boards advocated for men in the women's dressing room. That was the obsession coming from you guys. That's kind of the whole point. You guys are waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy more obsessed with that stuff than almost every other person in general and definitely on these boards.
You wokes advocated for people who identify as women (including men) in the women's dressing room and in women's sports. Stop saying that nobody did.
Point to the post where anyone from these threads advocated that. I must have missed it. What I didn't miss, is that once again the anti-woke people took the opportunity to start complaining about Trans folks.
You're the only one to bring that up. I haven't seen anyone else bring that up. Sec. 1 - I agree with. Sec 2. Looks like the deals with Federal agencies and doesn't really concern me. sec. 3. Defines what an agency is. Sec 4. looks like it's more about the Federal agencies and how laws work. I never looked at it before and didn't really study it very much right now. It isn't anything that effects my day to day life in any way shape or form. And it isn't something that anyone on the left on these forums brings up unless it's a response to someone from the right looking for something to attack and be angry and hateful about. It is the left-handed Filippino.
Biden's executive order turns into law what you said nobody here advocates because it's too far out there. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-n...ecades-of-womens-rights-with-title-ix-change/ https://www.newsweek.com/bidens-radical-title-ix-change-will-disaster-girls-opinion-1853449 As parents, schools, and the public writ large anticipate the release of the Biden administration's guidance on Title IX, now delayed (again) until March, all signs point toward the White House giving males unrestricted access to female sports, locker rooms, restrooms, and other female-only spaces. The same politicians and radical activists who are arguing for males to be given access to female-only spaces were seemingly just yesterday lecturing Americans about "the patriarchy" and "toxic masculinity." Regarding Title IX itself, "rape culture" on college campuses was a favorite talking point. "Believe all women" has transformed into "affirm all men." Now, those same proponents demand we accept that males are females simply if they wish to be, no questions asked. Not affirming them as female is met with emotional outbursts, insults, pejoratives, social ostracizing, charges of harassment, and loss of employment. Activists attempt to manipulate and ensnare good-hearted people with claims of a "transgender genocide." They deploy hyperbolic emotional blackmail with questions like, "do you want a live daughter or dead son?" Numerous institutions have attempted alternatives, such as offering students the use of staff or single-stall bathrooms, separate accommodations, and even a transgender sports category. However, activists quickly rejected these, insisting that anything less than total acquiescence counts as injustice. Society has already seen glimpses of what is to come by allowing males to invade female spaces, and it is horrifying. Two years ago, Loudoun County Public Schools in Virginia allowed a male student, claiming to be female, to access single-sex female spaces. When it was discovered that he raped a girl in the school bathroom, the school district hid the event from the community and moved the male assailant to another school where he subsequently sexually assaulted another female student. Last year in North Carolina, high school athlete Payton McNabb was knocked unconscious by a biological male during her high school volleyball match. She still struggles from that injury. At Waterloo High School in Illinois, students rejected the transgender bathroom policy passed by the school board by engaging in peaceful civil disobedience. The superintendent accused them of "harassment" and of violating district policy. The students' crime? Following the recently passed bathroom policy and seeking alternative accommodations in the school nurse's office. At Essex Westford School District in Vermont, an administrator stated in emails that recognizing those who have chosen to detransition "is harmful toward the trans community," and therefore a violation of the district's equity policy. And just recently in Colorado, it was revealed that an 11-year-old girl was assigned to share a bed, not just a room, with a male claiming to be a female on a school-sanctioned trip. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of schools across the country serving millions of students have policies in place that allow these outrageous incidents to happen. At best, female students are forced to seek alternative accommodations if they feel unsafe. At worst, they risk being accused of a Title IX violation of discrimination and then subsequently punished. Americans need to start demanding that transgender activists and their elected allies answer what, if any, are the limiting factors for their proposals. If we are forced to affirm and accept any male's claim to be female, how can we identify bad actors—especially those who seek access to female spaces for nefarious purposes? How do we protect young females from unwanted prying eyes, the humiliation of sharing private spaces with males, increased exposure to injury, or, heaven forbid, rape? The activists will inevitably respond with accusations of harassment and hyperbole. It would not be surprising if they start smearing any female who stands up to them as guilty of "toxic femininity." We need to reject the emotional knee-jerk magic spell that radical activists try to cast every time we push back to protect females and female spaces. In her recent congressional testimony, Riley Gaines showed us the way: stay calm, see through the spell, reject attempts at manipulation, and stand by your principles. "We the people" need to unite in our opposition to this worsening insanity and demand that the Biden administration protect female spaces and females. Males have no place in female sports, female locker rooms, or female bathrooms. Rhyen Staley is a researcher for Parents Defending Education. He has served as both a men's and women's volleyball coach for over 25 years for grade school, high school, and college teams. So @FranchiseBlade is telling us "nobody advocated" this - well, except, the President's handlers wrote it into an executive order.
