Okay, you are now lumping a guy who dates an underage girl with child predators. Do you have evidence that he targets kids and have had sex with multiple children?

What Giddey did is exactly the same as all the guys Chris Hanson puts in jail on to catch a predator. He purposely sought out an underage child to get with at that adult night club. These sick types are known to seek out their underage victims at places that require ID to verify they are adults. Oldest trick in the child predator handbook along with liquor stores and college campuses. If you can’t see that he’s no different than the creeps who actively seek out children online then…well…that’s your moral compass.
Young adult untercourse with an underage girl. He wasn't convicted officially. There was no trial, I guess lack of evidence. The NBA and Police both had to make sure and investigated, the parents side of the girl even hired a famous attorney but it all came to a halt very soon. Speculation is that the girl lied about the age and while Giddey would still be liable, this is a huge reason that would be advantageous for Giddey.
It's not a technicality, he was not convicted because he wasn't even charged. No sane jury would ever convict someone who was lied to. While that's not a legal defense for the crime alleged, it's certainly a reason a jury wouldn't convict a person of it. Sure there's extremists who would still lynch him for it, but thankfully there's usually not enough of those types to matter.
The alleged crime took place in California, Oklahoma law has nothing to do with why he wasn't charged. There simply wasn't a case that could be sold to a jury given the full facts of the case.
You are not wrong, I think it was not clear from the beginning...... Once the NBA had ample reason to believe that he is not the predator many thought he was, they let go of the investigation. I suspect Camp Giddey still paid the family......but that is not for me to concern myself with.
Possibly, but I think part of it was that they know their daughter and they know it wasn't him taking advantage of her. It was her lying in order to get what she wanted no matter who it might hurt. They probably just wanted the whole thing to go away.
They still wanted money, because they hired that posh ass lawyer, case just never took off and they are not as harmless as you think they are either. Giddey or Kiddey was the horny idiot who was not much older but still a grown up who should have known better of course.
