I kinda saw that coming, but I'm curious how it shakes out.

(I will watch his movies as long as he keeps making them.)

Doesn’t look like the typical M night movie since everything suspense/horror looks like it was shot by blumhouse studios.

I'd be down for a non-horror M. Night movie, even if he still felt the need to throw the twist end into it.

It's what they want me to think because how they edit Hartnett's facial reactions and grinning.

But I am not easy prey to that......

Like Dexter would, the Dad butchers pedophiles.

And his current prisoner is the son of a billionaire who bought out the concert event (set the trap) to save his son.

My bet is it's either his daughter or some other undisclosed family member, or the singer herself and he's somehow tied to her via blackmail or some other coercion.

At any rate, it's hard to screw up a serial killer story because the reality has been shown to be absolutely bonkers batshit crazy.

The twist is that there's not a twist?

That's basically what Knock at the Cabin was... I kept waiting and then... roll credits.

Big difference was that Cabin was a book adaptation and Trap was written by M Night.

Watched this on a flight yesterday. It was OK. I liked Josh Hartnett and his daughter. Entirely too much time on Lady Raven, who is M Night’s daughter. What was her motivation to help the manhunt? Made no sense unless her dad was killed by the Butcher or something like that. The premise was pretty cool but there was no twist. I expected the FBI profiler to be his mom but nah. Maybe there were cool twists that were edited out due to time or screening feedback or studio intervention. Who knows.

It was worth a watch since I had limited options. I enjoy M Night’s stuff more than most but this was mid.

    This is a succinct review.
