3 HR's to RF in Asheville, that could have been 3 medium depth fly balls in a real park. Blubaugh really came out of nowhere, I'd legit never heard of him until a week ago.
TINSTAAPP goes both ways. Although he was Houston’s #8 prospect on mlb.coms updated list earlier this year. Blubaugh threw 39 FB last night, up to 96 mph, and only one was hit hard. Thats really, really good. He also seems to have extremely similar release points across all of his pitches which probably throws hitters off. He could be really, really good. And at this point he looks like even in a less than ideal outcome he could be a potent relief weapon.
Never heard of him until just now. Looks like he had some mediocre numbers until he got to Corpus last year and has dominated since. Wonder what changed? What's the outlook on this guy?
I just saw him in one game this spring. He's got the stuff to pitch in the majors right now. Just needs some seasoning I guess. Loperfido should be playing 1B at MMP.
Bloss could really break out if he gets to Corpus in a couple months. Some extremely encouraging early developments from some of these guys with high 90s stuff dominating in the early going.
The 2023 draft is shaping up to be a great draft so far albeit still early. Probably 5 or 6 of the 10 pitchers I am most excited about in the organization right now come from 2023 draft. Ochoa and Matthews look good. Ferreras looks good so far. Just guys all up and down the draft looking good this far.
Alonzo Tredwell walked three and struck out 7 over 3.1 hitless innings in his second start for Fayetteville.
Kelly Austin, Colby Langford, and Amilcar Chirinos finished off a 4-0 Fayetteville win. Austin: 1.2 IP, H, 4 K Langford: 3 IP, H, BB, 4 K Chirinos: IP, K
Jake Bloss really looks like a All Star Pitcher. Strong Kid, Strong Legs, Delivery is smooth, Great Fastball, Curveball.
Loperfido currently has the highest barrel% (35%) and the 5th highest expected wOBA on contact (i.e., how much offensive value do you create each time you put the ball in play) (.627) with a minimum 10 PA.
Ochoa is in Fayetteville. But yes, the 2 lower level teams have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball.
I'm seeing the word DOMINANT in here a bunch. Remember when the boys at the main club were DOMINANT? That was fun.
