NFL Draft prospect AJ Simon dies at 25 as Albany pays tribute to former pass rusher (msn.com) The above link reports it as a heart attack, though not confirmed.
I can pick 9 players off of that list that could be cut candidates. What I noticed is Edge and LB need depth.
Th That list has 61 so we need to remove 6 to get down to 55. Then remove 9 more for rookies. I feel like there are more talented players from the sample list below than what you will find in the 6th or 7th round of the draft. Myles Bryant CB Michael Ford CB Ali Gaye DE Dylan Horton DE Tim Settle DT Troy Hairston FB Brandon Hill S M.J. Stewart SS Neville Hewitt ILB Dieter Eiselen G Kendrick Green G Charlie Heck RT Teagan Quitoriano TE Robert Woods WR Steven Sims Jr. WR
Not sure, but it's not pulling up on here. Go here to see it - https://www.barstoolsports.com/video/2328411/my-strange-addiction-nfl-mock-drafts
If they go BPA Cooper or P.Wilson will most likely be the pick. Never pass on LB that can run in the 4.4's and has their kind of production. I mean if Warner was sitting there at 2-42 would you pass on him because you needed a CB?
Depends who drops. Jerzhan Newton seems to be a consistent name in draftnik circles and most mocks I've run. Wilson is a stud, but his age and injury history are huge red flags for me.
Newton is the only DT I would pick at 2-42. Wilson has been healthy the last 2 years. The shoulder bothers me more than the ACL
Not sure Denver would. Singleton was arguably their best defensive player last year. He is 30 though at a non premium position
Wilson is a missle for sure. I like his coverage instincts. Harris and Wilson together would cover a ton of field. Im slightly higher on Cooper because of age and lack of injuries. Wilson has TWO ACL tears already.
Singleton is 30. Both players are on their last year of their contract in 2024. Texans are in win now mode. Denver is in a rebuild, strapped for cash, does not have a 2nd round pick this year, and in the same division as the Chiefs.
I get all that. Still think Denver would have pause, Singleton is cheap and their best defensive player. Not saying it isn’t a fair trade, but not sure it could/would happen
I don't believe that Wilson and Cooper are the top 2 linebackers. The tv personalities are pushing and focusing in on these two right now. Some teams may have them as their top 2 linebackers, but I would not be surprised if Jeremiah Trotter, Junior Colson, Trevin Wallace, or a Cedric Gray are higher on draft boards and drafted before Cooper and Wilson.
Mills is cheap as well. And he would be the best QB on the roster right away. Denver is only going to be able to draft a QB that they can develop. Mills would be the the bridge QB that can play right now and develop whoever they draft this year. In 2025, when most of the Russell Wilson dead money has cleared, Denver will be in better shape to sign a QB in free agency or trade up for one of the top QB's in the draft. But I get that Singleton may seem like a higher value and Houston may have to throw in a late round pick to help the trade happen. Your right, these trades are hard to put together. Maybe Denver is waiting on Tannehill to lower his price to sign.
