Was wondering why Joe Espada had so many interviews but didn't get hired. I hope this isn't the start of "so that's why".
Dusty didn't have to deal with injuries? Yeah, he did. Do you remember the 2020 season? He had all those rookies or 1st and 2nd year pitchers because of injuries? I guess you don't remember 2021 season? All the injuries down the stretch into the playoffs? Hell, he had injuries last season. Hell, he also didn't have Yordan in 2020. Altuve and Yordan missed big chunks of last season. I guess you don't remember that?
I questioned Dubin entering for a third inning, but he didn't get rocked. Atlanta blooped, dipped, and dunked every hitter he faced. Then to make matters worse, the umps couldn't call a play properly... not even via replay. Not sure if you watched the game, but the Braves got damn near every break all night. Every missed call by the umps went in their favor. The Astros perfect storm season continues. Things will turn around soon, with or without Espada.
Going up and down the roster, I can’t come up with 1 guy that can lead. Maybe Altuve but I just don’t see it.
