Obviously a bit of "everything", but if I had to choose the top two from your list, it would be free throws and 3-point shooting. And if I could add one, it would be to stop hesitating on threes. Shoot it if open.
The primary thing should be the 3, but if anything can be done about it, his lateral quickness needs work.
Yes agreed. Hesitating on 3's goes under the option of reacting quicker. I should have made it a little more clear, my apologies.
Reality is you can work hard but it's definitely a matter of priorities and there's only so much time and physical activity your body can do in a day. So I'll say I would heavily prioritize developing a reliable 3P shot. At least one of Alpi & Amen needs to have one for them to start together, and Alpi is currently much closer. Secondary priority would be strength & conditioning. Basically he should just be putting up a ton of shots every day and finishing off with some hard work in the gym.
My answer is three-point shooting then free throws to close out games. But watching the video reminds me Sengun is such a fun player He is very skilled, has heart and work ethic, good character/intangibles, and also a little nastiness with poster dunks and highlight passes. We're already growing league-pass darlings for many other fanbases. If this team hits on their potential and skill development over the years, with top-flight athletes like Amen, Jalen, Cam, and everyone else we can become one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league.
That's the main thing with Sengun. It's not like form is broken like Amen. If he just lets it fly he'll be decent enough as a shooter that defenses will hesitate to play drop coverage on him and that's all that he needs to do as a shooter. Just be respectable enough so defenses can't cheat and have to defend you at all three levels.
The "stop hesitating on threes" thing comes with confidence, and confidence comes from practicing and feeling like you really have the skill nailed down. So I think that's still just prioritizing it in workouts and such.
Long range shooting, conditioning, and defensive IQ. He doesn’t get enough credit for the defensive improvement last year; his form going straight up to defend is so much better. And the refs are rewarding that.
