The entire bullpen is gassed or on the verge. It's completely sucks we're having to use high leverage guys in a blowout. Literal insult to injury. Astros have no open days until next Thursday.
It is not Espada's fault the big three relievers have sucked. Abreu just had a horrible year and is 37. Espada has prioritized keeping Abreu's bat (and Singleton's) in the lineup over playing defense first players that have hit better over the past year. It seems like Espada is adjusting faster than some, but Abreu's rope should have been very short to start the season. Maybe I'm just suffering some confirmation bias because I was worried about him this year. Granted, I wasn't worried about Brown and he's stunk.
Just please tell me that the front office is at the very least looking to try and fix this **** with an arm or two and a 1B - anything please
I think his second half swoon must have given them some false hope that the issue last year was acute and had been/could be mitigated.
Might as well. What do we have to lose? Oh, that's right....we lost already. EDIT: Actually, nevermind.....Espada has someone else he'd like to throw out there.
The same people that were clamoring for Espada to replace Dusty have now pulled a 180 just 13.7 games in. (and before somebody accuses me of a blind Dusty loyalist or blind Espada loyalist, please check yourself). Sometimes the same people in here are just "loud noises" again and again... but I also understand the need to vent. This has not been a great start no matter how it gets dissected or blamed, or etc.
