Except he actually made the all star team as a setup guy. And the same questions were definitely there in reverse when he started closing games. He’s got a ton of miles on his arm… and his WHIP trend suggested he was going to decline this year regardless (which is probably what further inspired securing his replacement). But these performances scream more “I’m still in spring training mode” vs. “I am too old” or “I can only pitch 9th innings… with 3 run leads or less… and I’m worse than the worst reliever on the team in any other situation”
