you posted a tweet mocking aid workers and saying they were only doing it for attention and you also liked a post that cheered on the IDF in the hours after they killed those aid workers.
At this point I think ATW is a left wing plant to make defenders of the IDF look unhinged and unemphatic
Ideology is shared through experience, not intrinsic traits of a human at birth. Empathy allows you to realize you are a privileged human saying this stuff. You don't know what it feels like to wake up 6 hours before your work shift to make sure you arrive on time because you have to go through various security checkpoints divided by ethnicity. You don't know what it feels like to be raised in leveled communities with basic infrastructure lacking. These are things you have never experienced and want to assume these people just pick up these ideologies because of them being intrinsically what? Evil?
Nah he's just a racist who's anti Muslim. As someone who lived in Europe for a decade every European knows how's that right wing german are extremely racists and anti immigration. @AroundTheWorld doesn't wanna say it but I guarantee you he hates the vast majority of Muslims. It's just who he is
I mean he spent a decade on a NBA team fan message board b****ing about Muslims. Like a decade.. it's actually kinda insane.
I’m not assuming they are intrinsically anything other than human beings. Ideologies, harmful or not, are picked up based on what we learn from others in our community and can be hardened by personal experience.
What they learn are their life experiences. Thoughts of grand afterlifes and being addicted to the concept only usually happens when people feel their life in this plane of existence is so miserable they attach strong hope to there being something more than just their lot in his plane. There isn't anything intrinsically wrong with Palestinian culture. Any perception of negative aspects are a result of desperation and a yearning to be more than their miserable existence.
I don't feel most of the posters here have made charges at Palestinians of having a defective culture. Certainly not flaws specific to their culture. There are a few obvious exceptions. But there isn't any point trying to engage with bigots of that nature. The folks you're responding to haven't blamed Palestinian culture that I have seen.
I think durvesa and b-bob explicitly before have blamed Islam and culture of Arabs. I wouldn't have these feelings about them if this was my first contact with them implying that there is an intrinsic part of their religion that motivated them.
I can't speak for them. I just hadn't noticed anything of that type of blame now or in the past. My take certainly isn't more valid than yours. It probably isn't worth diving into which parts of their posts are specifically responsible for your feelings, but I'm curious.
I remember a former peer if mine I served with. Pretty racist and bigoted and when he saw a upper middle class black family talking the same way he did with no "urban dialect" he'd say "one of the good ones".
