I don’t think it’s collective punishment (If the IDF sought out civilians the way Gaza Hamas did, there would be no Gazans left) but I can understand the scorn when 3000 Hamas comes into Israel with paragliders, vehicles, and sea routes even and willfully SEEKS out innocent civilians to butcher, multilate horrifically, and rape…the planning that this took was enormous…And to know that they took young women as trophies and a very large contingent of supposed innocent Gazans celebrated like the won the World Cup and spat on the dead body…That image is ingrained in every soldier that is trying to defend Israel from this existential threat by Hamas That would love nothing more to do this again and again and again if they could

These type of people purposely encouraged their own children to get killed on video by IDF troops, why? For the only purpose that it might hurt Israel.

Even you have to understand that this is a sick mindset

So while you say neither side is Innocent I’m seeing a lot of distinctive evil in the mindset of one side vs the other

    Step 1: eliminate Hamas
Step 2: demilitarize Gaza (verification of imports)
Step 3: implement educational reform and implement a government that will partner with Israel on recognizing common goals
Step 4: support infrastructure and build the future for a meaningful peace (no more tunnels)

It can be done, Never forget that the child that was encouraged by the Gazan adult to be killed by the IDF CHOSE to high five the soldier, CHOSE to throw rocks away instead of at the IDF…start valuing life can be done but it requires these steps above

What is so difficult for you right wingers to grasp. You can be for eliminating hamas like I am while at the same time take care of the civilians you are occupying. Israel right now is blocking over 60% of food trucks that have already been inspected from entering Gaza. When you purposely starve an entire population you will never accomplish your goal of eliminating hamas as you only piss off more people.

When an IDF member is found to have committed a crime make a public display out of it. Make an example of the solider and show the world that you're taking actions to remove the bad apples.

Instead Israel hasn't punished anyone and havnt changed any of their tactics. All you're doing is destroying Israeli reputation on the world stage and making more jews around the world feel uncomfortable

The collective punishment goes further back than just the response to Oct. 7th. But when more than 50% of the homes of all Gazans have been destroyed that is collective punishment.

It’s not actually feasible to demilitarize a nation. They always figure ways around it.

The Palestinians and Jews need to find common ground on their own. And if this means fighting a bloody and brutal 30 year war or even a hundred year war, history shows they will be able to still make peace in the end. But right now you have one side who has legitimate desires to reclaim their immediate ancestral homeland and have self determination and another side who wants to reclaim their more ancient ancestral homeland and wants to have self determination. And there are enough on both sides of that divide that make the people who just want to coexist peacefully fade into the background.

Yes, but the war won't really be a war.

Israel is not in danger of being wiped out by the Palestinians and doubtful by anyone else. Palestinians have no where near the military to inflict a real threat to Israel's existence. They can kill people especially civilian and non-military soft targets.

Palestinians are in danger of being wiped out by Israel. The best they can do is try to get help to come up with a peaceful resolution which will give them autonomy in a sustainable and viable state of their own bordering Israel. Over time prolonged peace might breed more peace. Terrorists and extremists from both sides will try and break the peace by killing civilians, burning homes, trying to make one or both sides break peace agreements. These extremists and terrorists from either side shouldn't be allowed to decide the result of a peaceful future. The longer it works peacefully, the more the light will shine on the benefits of peaceful co-existence.

So far there hasn't been an opportunity or even an offer which would allow Palestinians to have a real state of their own. I don't have confidence either side will be able to choose the leadership needed to make this happen.

LOL So how is this different than what Russia or China has done with other countries and ethnicities?

Implement a government that will partner with Israel on recognizing common goals? Control the education system?

All of this for a country that borders you? Verification of all imports that come in and out of Palestine? Control and implementation of the education system and the government?

Gotcha - so you want the Palestinians to be puppets of Israel.

Thinking like this (and you are not alone in this) is why there will never be real peace. Do you know what happens when you control the education, commerce, government and defense of a country or groups of people? You end up with genocide or rebellion.

Israel expects Iran to respond today but Iran is suddenly dealing with Sunni Baluch militants near Pakistan.
Rumor is missile strikes and drones on Israel.

These are the same groups that triggered the tit for tat between Iran and Pakistan earlier this year.

I do not expect anything if recent history is a guide. Iran is comfortable sending other people to do for its causes.
Russia directs Iran who directs Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthis.

Majority in US Say Israel's Reasons for Fighting Hamas Are Valid | Pew Research Center
Looks like Israel is +4 on how they are fighting Hamas and +43 on why they are fighting Hamas. Meanwhile, Hamas is -27 on why they are fighting Israel and -69 on how they carried out the October 7 attack. Seems like the normies are pretty pro-Israel.

Israel could have kept killing innocent folks in the name of ridding hamas but they fked up and killed other innocent humanitarian workers.

All the money and tech funneled into Israel and they still messed up
