Yep. There are a lot of guys that won't pan out. The guys that don't work out will be hailed by fans as weak mentally, never was going to be good enough, poor work ethic, etc. It is just hard to know who the guys that will work out of the nearless endless supply of guys that make it to the majors with long odds of sticking. I am for making these guys work for their PT. Don't throw away guys that aren't good early in their MLB career just because they aren't good MLB players right off the bat. I'm still for letting the better players play more (i.e., do load management, but the better non-stars should play more than the worse non-stars).
Diaz was batting .429 going into last nights game. At least try to know what you are talking about. How many games did Diaz start in the playoffs last year? How many at catcher? Dusty ****ed the Astros so hard in the playoffs by starting broken down washed up Maldy every game but 1.
Who is that? I honestly haven't seen one post still clamoring for Dusty to actually be the manager. Could you kindly provide supporting evidence of these idiots?
Analytics is often criticized by its detractors for its lack of epistemic humility - that you can quantify and model anything and everything with suitable precision and accuracy. However, if anything, analytics I think at least with amateur scouting has softened the priors of some orgs such that new paths to the majors have been created.
No I don’t do homework assignments. You can just peruse the board and easily find them. hint: there is actually an entire thread about it
It was astonishing just how well Blanco's changeup worked last night. I heard a little about him throwing it more, but watching a full game of it was crazy. 34% changeups, up from 9% last season, and the bluejays were helpless against it. You can't make any trends from one start, maybe he just really had it going and won't be able to repeat it, but it certainly played like an elite out pitch. A great changeup that plays in the zone also greatly improves the effectiveness of your fastball, which was his big weakness last season.
Absolutely phenomenal performance from Blanco. Who in the hell had him pitching a NO HITTER coming into last night? Absolutely amazing!!! JV who?! . Jk, please come back JV.
No, you are ignoring the pitching meltdowns. If it was Maldy back there, he would be getting all the blame. We know Diaz can hit, the question is can he fully handle the oitching staff with no safety net.
Again, we know he can hit…can he handle the pitching staff for a full season and possibly playoffs with no safety net. Those 4 games leaves those questions.
Dusty sucked. His decisions were bad. His decision to start Maldy in the playoffs and all season long was one of the worst baseball decisions we’ve ever witnessed . Why some of you still defend that **** is way beyond me. There is no baseball reason though, that’s for sure. Blaming Diaz for the middle relief issues of the first 4 games is just being too transparent that you are a Dusty dumbass.
You mean the thread that was started clearly as a joke? Ok. Keep living in the past and whining about things you have no power to change. It's good for your health.
Oh man. They didn't give me a ticket when I got into the game. I just have my ticket on the phone. I'll have him just autograph my phone next time, haha.
I did. Still didn't see anyone seriously say they still wanted Dusty as the manager. There were some dumbass kneejerk reactions to the first series but no one said Dusty should still be here. You're fighting against air.
