When the 7 batter(for real reasons and not for Dusty reason) has an OPS+ of 128, your lineup is pretty damn good. Our 8 and 9 batters also have a legit chance to be slightly above average bats while being gold glove caliber players.
I have seen Alvarez batting #2 a lot this spring. Thoughts on this? I guess it makes sense since he gets on base so much but a little surprised it is not Bregman.
8 guys have a legit chance to post 3+ fwar, and the only one who doesn’t (Abreu) still has a chance to be a very good hitter.
What a difference from Baker. Not only is he willing to put his best 3 hitters in the first 3 spots, he isn't worried about his lefties hitting against a lefty.
It's finally here. Baseball almost every day for the next 6 months! Cheers to Chaz and Diaz finally being full time starters.
Not sure about all his games but he had mix results. Two bad games for sure(1st and last) but 1 solid game.
I too hope Jon has a great year. Imagine this team if Singleton can hit 15 HR and a 110 wRC+/OPS+? I really don't expect it, or even expect him to make it through the season on the roster, but would be completely stoked if it does.
Yankees put Cole on 60 day. So much for "3 to 4 weeks" Astros last regular season game vs Yankees is May 9th. So won't see Cole until 2025 unless it's in the post season. I'm betting nobody faces Cole in 2024.
Roof better be open. This is the only month it’s basically tolerable outside… and then when mlb starts forcing them during the playoffs, the complaint is that they haven’t done it all year.
