He gots lot of no calls last night that affected his shooting. Jalen doesn’t miss layups in his own without getting hacked most fk there . This is what was happened back in December. He drives and the refs swallow their whistle. They do it to FVV from time to time too
This is a pretty wild take. You literally added 4 shots to try and aide in convincing yourself he had a poor game. Wild.
Not until he goes supernova. In all seriousness, he's done this before. I don't need to see another nova or supernova as much as he doesn't become a dwarf for months again. When his shots stop falling, that's when we'll see if his baseline has improved and how quickly he can bounce back. Last night was a positive indicator.
I think you forgot the part where he did it in a win and had a big 3rd quarter that helped the team pull away and that some of those "makes" were generated by strong defensive possessions he turned to easy offensive opportunities. It's never been JUST about efficiency with him - efficiency is important but if you are finding other ways to positively impact the outcome, then it's less important and this is one such example.
One thing I don't think is discussed enough is how Jalen has dramatically improved his scoring while scoring leaguewide has cratered due to new rule enforcements. He's never gotten a fair whistle -- now he's ascending when other players can't count as much on whistles. It's part of the reason why he's led the league in scoring since Sengun went down.
This seems different because it's not just hot shooting. His processing seems much better. Not to mention the defense and rebounding.
Favorite play from last night was when he started to heat up, had an open shot by his standards and passed it up to Jeff Green for a better shot. I was surprisingly taken back by that.
Yes, there is a lot of that kind of stuff. The old Jalen would force more make some stupid turnovers and take&miss at least a couple more shots. Not to mention the mistakes he’ll do on defense.
Efficiency is important but he doesn’t have to be efficient every single game. Particularly in a game where he went off to create the separation and essentially end the game and get the W. He’s 22, bad games are going to happen as they do for every player. What we want to see are the good games occurring more frequently and that’s what we’re getting. Hes a legitimate candidate for player of the month if not the favorite. No we have not seen this before. This is a completely different Jalen.
He needed the efficiency when scoring was the only thing he was offering. Now there is more tolerance, especially if he can take over in a stretch like the 3 rd quarter last night even on a bad shooting night.
Best thing is that now Jalen understands the value of making that pass and of putting forth the effort on defense. He gets that the team plays better when everyone looks for the best available shot and tries hard at the other end. Old Jalen takes that shot because he's pretty open; new Jalen knows his team will be better if he makes the smart play.
Not really Wemby can't do it his team only has 15 wins. Rox winning when Jalen has a big mage means he is impacting wins not just putting up big stats.
it's wild to see people say "he's done this before" when we are literally on a 9 game win streak pushing for a playoff spot with a winning record. mental gymnastics.
