Kentucky has basically become a G League team. A place to showcase skills one year, and move from there. Zero evidence of a culture built around bringing guys in to build a team with where the focus is winning above all...which is shocking considering the history of Kentucky basketball.
He only took 5 shots. Cal isn't a good coach. Recruiter yes but he basically is a pipeline to the NBA. It's why a lot of his one and done guys struggle so much
If you cant get up for the biggest game of your life can you be trusted to do so in the NBA? Peripheral excuses notwithstanding. I think Sheppard needs to go back for another year to solidify his place as a player, but he will probably chase the bag and all the power to him. I personally dont see some revelation though - great shooter who will need to have the table set for him.
I don't get why anyone is surprised. Hasn't this been the Calipari way forever? Grease palms and put together an all-star playground squad that wins titles on paper but can't play cohesive basketball to save their lives and completely melt under duress.
This was one of those calls that happens out of reflex. 9 times out of 10 a block attempt like that results in a foul. With the game on the line you really have to swallow your whistle though unless it's egregious.
He's probably going to sneak into the lottery. His value is about as high as he's. I don't thonk he can impove his draft stock
He's won, though. Not of late...but he's won a title. He's been Coach of the Year 3 times. He wasn't always this bad at building a winning program...and it's getting worse.
yeah it's actually just worse now because the talent isn't as good as those years he got away with it and won. And then other teams are also older now with the transfer portal coming into play. So gathering a bunch of 18-19 year olds and playing a bunch of 22-24 year olds is a tough task regardless if you have "5 stars" by your name
shooting really well. if they advance past the sweet 16, it's gonna be because they just get hot. they certainly have the pieces on that end of the court. on pace to put up 100 right now against toothpaste.
I wouldn't trust him. The lottery is a crap shoot though. He'll go way higher than he should. I'd rather package the pick for a veteran player on a good contract
Two completely different teams lol Auburn a team full of athletes that play with a ton of energy Yale a team full of slow limited athletes
UCONN-Stetson is showing a typical one-sixteen matchup --- 40-point L Stetson can't make shot, getting killed on the boards, getting killed in the paint, and severely losing in turnovers Their only advantage is FTs. Reverse that stat, they'd lose by 50. Reciprocate the typicalness UH !!
