He could get better, or he could be like Pierce when he lost weight. If Sweat is already productive as is, I wouldn't mess that up. Hope he'll be there for the Texans to pick.
Guess it depends on what you consider “production.” He was basically unmovable at his current weight which was why teams couldn’t run against UT. Not sure how he fits into DeMeco’s scheme but if we need a DT that is stout against the run, can free up the DE/LBs, and can occasionally get into the backfield, Sweat would be an excellent addition IMO. His ability to knock down passes is a plus too.
Sweat looks like a tall normal DT in his suit, tie and satchel. Gilbert Brown looked like a giant ball. Teams shouldn't put so much on emphasis on the 360. Water weight=)
Losing weight doesn't equal better production. In fact losing weight could mean a loss of strength and less production.
This. Saw an article about the Cowgirls fumbling 1st round pick DT Mazi Smith by asking him to drop weight. He went from 330 to 290 and has subsequently sucked.
I just wonder if the Texans will hold off on drafting a receiver this year and hope that Metchie will improve to give us three quality starters with Noah and Woods providing depth. If they draft a receiver, can glean that they're not confident in Metchie?
I think it’s moreso insurance for Nico if the number becomes too big next year. Especially with Anderson and Stroud on big contracts soon. Plus WR depth this year is huge, so it would make all the sense in the world to go after a WR in the top 60.
I really hope that he is our first pick! Would love to see him clogging the middle and collapsing the pocket in a Texans uniform.
He is such an awkward guy. Everyone says he is a genuinely stand up guy though.. and he can’t help that one of his eyeballs is always pointing West.
This is an insane workout.... IF is real Started at Alabama... transferred to Colorado... ended up at JUCO Suffers from epilepsy.
Ok I did a 4-round mock. Most pressing need is at defensive tackle. With that in mind I picked Darius Robinson out of Missouri, who may also play DE, and Kris Jenkins out of Michigan. That gives us talent, youth, and depth. Then I took OT Patrick Paul out of Houston. He would give us talent, youth, and much-needed depth. He might also develop into a quality starter. Then I took a Tank Dell clone in Malik Washington as I felt he was the BPA and might be able to start. Thereafter I took Braelon Allen to give us another RB option. Please critique my draft. Thanks.
Someone speculated that we'll need to draft a CB. I'm a bit skeptical that the Texans plan on taking one early based on all of the CB'S we've signed, but I nevertheless went with it in another mock. How do you like this version?
