Of course it's a dunk! Everybody went crazy and John Collins is literally dead Wait...is it a dunk? If you don't touch the rim, can it be a dunk? Should rule for a dunk be: 1. Grasping the rim 2. Simultaneous contact between the hand, ball and the rim 3. Near-simultaneous contact between hand, ball and rim (throw ball threw & grab on follow) 4. Throwing downward from above the rim, no hand-rim contact needed.
Webster's Dictionary defines "slam dunk" as "a shot in basketball made by jumping high into the air and throwing the ball down through the basket". CASE CLOSED
Wasn't there a Blake Griffin one that was similar to this? I recall there being debate over it as well
I remember some jackass who thought he was Superman winning a dunk contest with a similar "dunk" So yeah, it's a dunk, I guess
Looks like a "dunk" to me. Seems like he may have slammed his finger against the face of Collins at the same time. Went back to the locker room not long after?
When Victor Wembanyama does one of his weirdo hooks from 4 feet out that has a downward slope Is dunk?
Technically, it was more a slam than a dunk, I guess, but it was a very "dunk-like" slam. Edwards paid for it with a dislocated finger against the head of Collins.
This is a crazy dunk by Edwards during his rookie year (see video below). I think a dunk should be where you are able to grab the rim and hold and dunk all at the same time. But if you're pushing or throwing the ball through the hoop like last night, it should NOT be called a dunk.
