Cuban baseball reporter Alfre Alvarez told NJ Advance Media “it’s normal to do it in Cuba with your mother and grandmother as a joke.”

Alvarez added: “It’s a big deal in the U.S. what Chapman did, but for Cubans, it is normal to grab your mother’s breasts and slap her [butt]. It’s not a sexual thing. It’s really not a big deal for us, but we understand it’s not a good look from people who don’t know our culture.”

Chapman was born in Holguin, Cuba.

Just bring in the robots. The challenge system is stupid. The managers will just watch the game on TV or MLB at bat and challenge every stupid call.

Cole doesn't need TJ surgery after a second opinion. Sounds a lot like McCullers and Verlander. Don't need until you do. I hope he heals well. He was a good Astro while he was here and the cap shenanigans doesn't change that. I just wish he acknowledged that he wouldn't have gotten the record contract without his time as an Astro and help from our coaching staff.

In other fun umpire news, Angel Hernandez ejected the same player twice in a Spring Training game:

Imagine being able to challenge calls with Angel. It would be a 5 hour game.

I have been saying for years that if both managers agree they should be able to eject an ump. and if 2/3 of managers in the league agree they should be able to fire him. There should be accountability for umpires that do a bad job.

Somebody out there needs to make Angel Hernandez physically unable to do his job.

I've always wondered if a catcher just couldn't (a mixup pitch) let the ball hit him right in the nuts or facemask.

Wow, he totally got F'ed over by his agent. Could have had 6.5 and ended at 4.5 at best.

That's not on him. He was pretty much unstoppable in the postseason. Thats like blaming Mike Scott for 86.

We have a feeling of who fills out those last few bullpen spots?
