Russia always had the upper hand but the question is how much do we want to hurt/punish for their territory grabbing. Russia has been imperialist for hundreds of years, but we have the ability to cement them as basically a vassal state of China for the foreseeable future.
Pretty sure Russia is increasingly reliant on North Korea, Iran and China for their munitions and hardware. You are clearly a troll because you are talking out of both sides of your mouth. The response was “piss poor” because we didn’t give them enough aid… something you’ve been against since the beginning.
Ukraine doesn't have enough soldiers to win this war. Ukrainian men aren't volunteering in sufficient numbers to sustain the conflict all that much longer. It's estimated there are 300,000 Ukrainian servicemen fighting and 600,000 Russian soldiers in Ukraine. It's reported a draft, or wider draft, would be deeply unpopular with the Ukrainian population, apparently sufficient Ukrainian men aren't willing to die to defend their homeland. The average age of Ukrainian soldiers is in the 40s. Eastern European men who have been notoriously unhealthy for decades. Smoking and problematic drinking + lack of good diet and exercise. With the lack of volunteers, the soldiers already serving are being stretched to the breaking point, that combined with their poor health/physical fitness and advanced age is likely to see the front collapse at some point. No amount of Western munitions will be able to compensate for a lack of soldiers.
Or what? Nuclear war? Send your kids or nephews to fight for democracy there? Maybe sport some Ukrainian flag colors on your porch?. Just encourage the Ukranians to get slaughtered to supposedly weaken Russia. Sheesh. Go back to video games.
Russia has one of the lowest life expectancy rates for a developed country. Russia’s casualty rates is also much higher than Ukraine. It’s always been acknowledged that Russia is numerically superior. Ukraine has still been able to hold them off and while Ukraine is certainly war weary there is no indication that they will surrender and with support they appear able to hold off Russia indefinitely.
After the Russians took Avdiivka about a month ago, they've been on offense, taking significant land on their westward advance. Ukraine has been reduced to rubble in these areas, and their natural resources and industrial base have been taken by Russia. No one would refer to that as "holding off Russia". The Russians have broken through in the last month. The maps below are from a pro-Ukraine think tank and even they admit it.
Perhaps I missed the victory parade that Putin had in Kyiv. sure the Russians are on the offensive right now. Partly because we’ve been slow getting the Ukrainians aid, but they’ve had offensives before that have fizzled out. People forget that that in 2022 they were in the suburbs of Kyiv and were pushed back.
Just to note the character who supported waging war to spread democracy is now for allowing a democracy to fall to an autocracy.
The poorly equipped and vastly outnumbered Taliban pushed the much superior Russian military out of Afghanistan.
Actually, I'm concerned that our deficit spending and national debt are leading to rampant inflation, which deals a crushing blow to the quality of life of the lower and middle classes (cost of food and housing). Instead of wasting billions of dollars on an unwinnable war halfway around the world, I'd prefer to get our financial house in order or spend the money on much needed projects in our own country. Pretty simple, really.
Doesn't have anything to do with Ukraine's man power problem. You're shifting topics. Either way, Russia doesn't have nearly the same man power problem. The fact Ukraine has held on so far is not evidence they will indefinitely or the man power shortage isn't a critical issue. I don't think its clear at all that "with support Ukraine will be able to hold off Russia indefinitely" let alone reconquer lost territory. There are a multitude of articles out there covering this critical situation with the Ukrainian militaries man power. Ukraine had a population of 43.79 million as of 2021. So, approximately 22 million males. Of which approximately 11 million will be of fighting age. What are the Ukrainian militaries numbers right now? Ukraine's troop numbers are not known, but it has said in the past it has around 1 million people under arms https://www.reuters.com/world/europ...000-people-be-mobilised-zelenskiy-2023-12-19/ If you take that 1,000,000 number, that means approximately 9% of the Ukrainian male population of fighting age is serving. Now, Ukraine has had some casualties but they have also had foreign volunteers I haven't dug into that number either. But I'll give them another 5% as casualties. So let's say 14% of the Ukrainian male fighting age population has served or is currently serving. In comparison, the U.S. had a population of approximately 133,000,000 in 1941 which means approximately 65 million males. Which means approximately 32 million of fighting age and we know approximately 16 million U.S. servicemen served in WWII. About 50% of fighting age men served. It's popular to criticize the West and the U.S. for "not doing enough" but less popular to criticize the Ukrainian male population for not providing the soldiers needed to prosecute this war. No amount of Western munitions, technology or logistics will make up for Ukraine's man power shortage.
HORSE ****, you weren't concerned about Trump's ****ing Tarriffs costing us billions in revenue which we had to borrow to pay off farmers for their rotting soybeans.....or Trumps permanent tax break for the rich which led to the biggest expanse in our debt. Don't pretend to care now, DD
It's funny how nowhere did you mention that the only reason their on the offense is cuz republican in Congress refused to send more ammo to Ukraine which is why Russia is on the offense lol It's funny how the MAGATs think that they can gas light and lie to the world what's really happening. History will not be kind to you MAGATs @El_Conquistador only cares about ass licking trump and doing whatever to help him win. None of these morons care about the deficit or debt. Trump is literally running on an agenda to increase the debt lol These MAGA dipshits are such losers
Inflation under Trump was in the 1-2% range all four years. Under Biden, inflation was 7% in 2021 (!) and 6.5% (!) the next year. https://www.investopedia.com/inflation-rate-by-year-7253832 Because of terrible spending decisions and funding other countries' wars (instead of funding our own country's needs), inflation under Biden has skyrocketed, leaving millions of hard-working Americans unable to afford food or rent. That is awful. And in response, the Fed has raised interest rates, which is now preventing Americans from affording homes. Under Trump, groceries and homes were affordable. Biden's wrongheaded economic policies have torched the way of life for so many Americans. The worst part? He hasn't learned his lesson. The budget proposal released recently shows an astounding deficit. Most successful business people and economists will tell you that the Democrats' economic policies are horrendous. What's sad is that the poor suffer the most.
Funny how you wanna talk inflation but somehow don't wanna talk unemployment? What was the unemployment rate when trump left dipshit? You wanna talk about "poor suffering" lol poor suffer the most when unemployment is high You folks always blame covid for the unemployment but somehow never wanna blame covid for the high inflation which every country in the world suffered from Claiming inflation happened cuz of bidens policies when every country in the world suffered from covid inflation just shows how disingenuous you dipshits truly are.
I guess Biden caused world-wide inflation in 2021 and 2022. The recovery from COVID caused inflation. Now inflation is ongoing g because corporations have decided. "People paid high prices during COVID, they will keep paying them." Look at the industries with the highest inflation. They are for things we need to survive. Now go look at those same industries and see they are making record NET profits. Most people are too busy with their lives and surviving to actually delve into the reasons for the inflation we are seeing now. People also seem to forget gas prices,on average, in 2018 were 2.90. They want to look at the low point during shutdown when gas prices were extremely low because no one was driving. They forget about the "normal" times under Trump. One reason Trump's inflation number is so low is because inflation went to almost 0% during COVID. Vaccinations did not become available until 12/14/2020. When the world opened back up supply chains were broken and inflation was inevitable. Had COVID occurred in 2017 you would have seen the same exact thing in 2019 as you did in 2021.
