It is entirely a realistic answer, I would say the most realistic. The fantasy answers are the ones where Israel decides to just stop the war, pull out of Gaza, and allow Hamas to remain in power. Israel is winning the war, they are getting support from powerful allies, there is at least some public support for going relentlessly after Hamas. Everything is aligned for them to continue the war until achieving total victory. Seeing videos of people cheering Hamas and polls showing 70% support for Hamas in Gaza just strengthens that. I don't know how I could have been more direct than the answer being to leave the area. It is clear as can be. Israel has had international outrage for the last 70+ years. There have been more UN resolutions against Israel than any other country in the world. I don't think they are making decisions based on international opinion, and I think October 7th was a tipping point in that process. They were fine dealing with rocket attacks which are largely blunted by the Iron Dome. They were fine dealing with the occasional suicide attack. When Hamas came storming out of Gaza and killed 1,000+ people, that was when the gloves were going to come off.
Hamas could surrender and release all remaining hostages. Why do Western leftists not demand that? And that Qatar extradites the terrorists from Hamas it harbours?
Political support of Israel even in the US isn’t as solid as it was before. Between those on the Left who want a ceasefire and those on the Right who are isolationist support for Israel is not what it was before. Aid for Israel was already held up over the situation with the bipartisan border bill. At the same time support for Israel is at all time lows in Europe.
I’ve said before Hamas should release all the hostages. They shouldn’t have taken them in the first place. I’ll say it again they are a death cult who doesn’t care how many Palestinian lives are lost. They aren’t all Palestinians and there other Palestinian groups. Those groups though have suffered from Israelis actions too and the Likud government has made sure that moderate Palestinian groups cannot gain more influence among the Palestinians.
Similarly, any aid to rebuild should be conditioned upon strict control of removal of Jew hate propaganda in education in "Palestinian" territories.

There is clearly a reason why the Islamists are holding back temporarily with terror attacks in the West, outside of Israel. They know that if they acted upon what they want to do - kill Americans and other infidels - it would hurt their PR war against Israel at this point in time. But rest assured, their hate will break through and terror attacks in the West will intensify, after Israel will be done with Hamas.
