Nick to me can sometimes be into what's more book smart than what actually is smart situationally... being conservative and sticking to your morals has it's advantages but in the current state and age of where business trends have elevated too... you'll easily get burned.
Please let Justin Simmons continue to ask for too much until all the money is dried out except for ours
I still believe we were actually over the cap with the Danielle Hunter deal and needed the cap space. I could be wrong of course, but I don't think so.
DL will look like this hopefully DT- Autry/Settle/Futasi/Davis/Hinish/High draft pick. Edge- Hunter/WA/Horton/Sanders/ low FA, or low draft pick.
Too soon for Horton to make a return this season, right? I know it took a good year before Metchie finally came back to the field.
As much as we want the story to have a happy ending, beating cancer may just take a bit longer to get back to an elite professional level. While Metche was being treated, Horton was playing football...poorly. Though each player is different, Metche needs to prove it this year and Horton has another year. Good luck to both.
Just to be clear, I anticipate Horton to return, but not at elite level much like Metche last year. I am hoping Metche returns to pre cancer expectations in 2024 giving us that extra weapon so many crave. I'm anticipating the same for Horton in 2025 for no other reason than Metche being the only other cancer survivor I know of trying to return to playing football at an elite level.
My wish list with remaining cap: S - Jordan Fuller DT - DaQuan Jones CB - Steven Nelson/Chidobe Awuzie
I'm not sure we have remaining CAP. Our Total Cap is listed at $9m (SPOTRAC) available without Kris Boyd, Khalil Davis, Foley Fatukasi, Desmond King, Tim Settle or Tommy Townsend being accounted for. FYI, The draft pool is accounted for in this figure.
