Probably less than half, I didn't count, but here are the ones I tend to agree with, at least directionally:
    • Ban DEI
    • Ban "gender-affirming care" for children
    • Viagra and Cialis still available (kidding)
    • Term limit for Congress
    • Increase penalties for underage criminal offenders
    • Better legal protection for police officers
    • Deploy National Guard if woke cities cannot solve their crime problem and it gets out of hand
    • European countries should pay their fair share if they want the US to protect them
    • Tariff on Chinese imports - I am all for free and fair trade, but clearly, China is not fair, and there is no reciprocity with them
    • Extend tax cuts and reduce the corporate tax rate
    • Tax and fine the universities (if legally possible) which engaged in racist and antisemitic behavior, such as Harvard
Go ahead, call me a Nazi for agreeing with those, @astros123 - I am getting used to it.

Trump laughably renames himself "Honest Don"

Trump added. "For the good of our now failing Nation, and in order to inform the American people of what is going on in our Country, we must immediately have a full scale debate between Crooked Joe and Honest Don. I'm ready to go, ANY TIME, ANY PLACE!"

Some of this I do agree with but the Biden admin has already done more than the previous just in legislation the American people want. Trump is a cancerous rot on our society and needs to be removed at the ballot box once and for all. I like the politician that wants to represent instead of rule.

I'm still not sure why you pick such poor choices when it comes to candidates, lol DeSantis but here we go again. You can't vote yet right?

There are major free speech implications to banning something you don't like. I think a ban would actually harm some of the progress that has been made in undermining DEI initiatives and give ammo to those who think DEI corrects a history of discrimination. If you don't like their ideas, beat them in the court of public opinion.

I see no problem banning medical intervention on children (the EU seems much more reasonable than the US right now), but notice that Trump says he'll ban it for adults, too. That is a deeply disturbing proposal and violates individual autonomy, something that conservatism is supposed to uphold.

No issues here, but I see no way of it happening. The dinosaurs aren't going to vote for their own extinction. Again, it's up to voters to demand better and fix this at the ballot box.

This is so vague that I don't even know what it means. Which offenses? What resources will be spent on ensuring that underage offenders are actually rehabilitated and given a chance to re-enter society? Knowing Trump's history with the Central Park Five, he isn't interested in anything beyond retribution. And considering this country's incarceration rate and spotty history with treating people who've done their time, I think this proposal demands a ton of scrutiny.

What does this mean? Police are already equipped like military regiments and are greatly protected from most prosecution much less conviction. If it means less accountability then this is another un-conservative proposal. Conservative thought is supposed to be suspicious and wary of state agents, not complicit in their empowerment.

Another deeply unconservative position with a ton of negative free speech implications. What is crime? Trump has said he wants to invoke the Insurrection Act to squash public protest. Suddenly that Constitutionally-protected protest is a "crime" and the National Guard is empowered to crack down on free expression.

Furthermore, why would we want the National Guard to intervene in policing? They're not trained for that. If we want better public safety then police, with all of their record-setting annual budgets, should be forced to do their job instead of complaining and quiet quitting when civilian leadership insists they try something different.

The US has, to date, been the only beneficiary of NATO's Article 5 when we were aided in Afghanistan. Trump's critique about "payment" rings hollow when he has been shown to use it as justification for his isolationism. One of the core oxymorons of Trumpism is that it wants to have international swagger, but refuses to pay for it. Abandoning NATO is a gift to authoritarian states like China who will fill the vacuum left by America if we retreat from the world stage.

I'm not an economist, but the record of Trump's first round of tariffs is spotty. I think protecting ourselves from Chinese economic influence is a good thing and favor the CHIPS Act and doing more manufacturing in Mexico. But, the reality is that Americans - from consumers to manufacturers - are addicted to cheap goods and nobody does that better at-scale than China. A lot of people who want industrial production to be cheap are also unwilling to pay the surcharge that comes with paying American workers fair wages and benefits. As the expression goes, we have champagne tastes and a beer budget.

Doubling (quadrupling?) down on the economic policies of the last 30+ years is a hard sell to many people.

Another difficult free speech issue, especially as it applies to private institutions. If Harvard is going to be scrutinized as a private institution for speech then universities like Liberty should also looked into. Selective application of punitive law based upon conduct/speech you don't like is, again, deeply unconservative.

It's impossible to separate the good from the bad with Trump. Attempting to do so is a "well, at least the trains ran on time" argument.

I appreciate your detailed response. Some good arguments. Can't respond in detail now. Some quite convincing arguments from you, some where I would just say "agree to disagree".

    Definitely agree with this part:

True for many politicians, but probably even more so with this one. Again, I don't like the guy personally at all. I think he is a malignant narcissist. And a bit ridiculous on top.

Ban DEI - I am not a fan of banning anything that has had some value, I would agree that you don't have to always demand it. Are there some uses for DEI, I think so.

Term limit for Congress - 100% agree

Better legal protection for police officers - I don't agree with this or maybe I don't understand what you're saying. In to many cases cops have broken the law and killed someone and they end up getting away with it, if it weren't for cameras, you would not see half of what's really going on with cops. I would be all for better training and better officers, there pay absolutely sucks for what they do but there are WAY to many bad apples out there

Deploy National Guard if woke cities cannot solve their crime problem and it gets out of hand - This read more like a campaign jab when in reality RED cities are just as bad or worse........Cleveland Oh is 7th on the list, you think Gym Jordan will put up with that, 2 Alabama cities in the top 3, How's tubby gonna like that.

European countries should pay their fair share if they want the US to protect them - Yes and No, were not the mafia and thats not really what NATO is about, it's about a coalition of countries looking out for each other. Should we lead the way in fixing the problem, yes, but we don't turn our back on our neighbors when you have countries like China and Russia who can take out a Ukraine with no provocation. Your comment, like so many I see on the extreme right side act is if this is a shake down and it comes down to the Almighty dollar..............this is about caring for our neighbors and doing the RIGHT and DECENT thing............that used to mean quite a bit to the gop, not so much now

Tax and fine the universities (if legally possible) which engaged in racist and antisemitic behavior, such as Harvard - They are not a public university so no, I don't agree with that. They have lost millions in donations, and they are working to fix the problem I hope as their reputation has taken a huge hit. People and companies are allowed to make a mistake and they will be publicly humiliated in this day and age, if they don't change, they won't stay in business.

Where in that statement did trump say he would only pardon the select few you claim weren't that violent. He's publicly stating he'd issue blanket pardons and how he wants to form his own militia but you clowns always give him the benefit of the doubt cuz you're a right winger

Trump has said he'll pardon all of them but @AroundTheWorld wants to kiss his ass

All the issues like DEI, gender affirming treatment etc.. can be dealt with through our Constitutional system. The problem with Trump is less what issues he stands for and more that he not says he won’t follow the Consititution if prevents him from getting what he wants he’s tried to.

The only issue that matters to Trump is Trump.

He will and has reversed himself on many issues including when it suited him. Just this past week he reversed his view that TikTok should be banned.

I made this point years ago to a Trump loving friend. That if you tie the issues you support to Trump they will go up or down based on Trump. We’re seeing that with abortion where Trump simultaneously brags how he ended Roe but then accuses Republican state legislatures or being too obsessed with abortion and losing votes.

Although it wasn't directed at me.
Getting rid of the Department of Education, criminalizing race-based advantage programs (aka violations of the equal protection clause), ending the ACA, banning federal dollars from going to gender affirming care (though that should be all healthcare), increasing the penalties for underage criminal offenders (I would just eliminate the distinction), reassess participation in NATO, killing all e-vehicle legislation, eliminating limits on natural gas exports, extend 2017 tax cuts and lower corporate taxes, expansion of gun rights. All of those are fairly libertarian positions. All of the statist garbage about deploying the national guard to cities and confiscating college endowments and building freedom cities and an American Academy makes him completely unsupportable from a libertarian perspective though.

We'll agree to disagree on a lot, but one point stands out: what's the Libertarian justification for treating juveniles as adults when it comes to criminal penalties?

The same reasoning to get rid of race based differential treatment. The government should not pick and choose different groups to treat differently. If you crack someone over the head with a baseball bat, your penalty should be the same no matter what race you or the victim is, no matter what gender you or the victim is, no matter how old you or the victim is, etc. It sure doesn't make the victim feel any better that a 17-year-old bonked them instead of an 18-year-old.

Having different penalties for juveniles also creates a perverse incentive for gangs (which are the major driver of violent crime in cities) to farm their violence off to younger gang bangers. This of course encourages them to recruit younger gang bangers. Now we see a lot of shootings done by 14-17 kids, because they know the worst that is likely to happen to them is they go to prison until they are 25. This part of the reasoning is neither pro- or anti-libertarian, it is just a personal observation.
