Overall, he is 18th in number of double teams per possession. Basically tied with Maxey, slightly behind guys like AD, Fox, and Curry.
This kid is breaking every record that 21 years old player may achieve, l would want to really see what FO, Stone will do to keep him and make our team a playoff contender. If Stone does not make moves for the team, l hope Sengun wants to be traded, because l started to feel that only he gives 100 percent effort, his possible asists are wasted,.moreover his hardworking is wasted... He deserves to be in a winning Culture, because in Europe he was always a winner. Rafael Stone has to do something in the offseason..
I think it is very safe to assume that in a redraft of the '21 draft, Sengun and Jalen would have switched places. Sengun would be #2 only behind Barnes or Mobley (I'd take him #1) and Jalen would have definitely been somewhere closer to #16 if not lower. Only on the Rockets does he get to be this inefficient for this long and get to keep playing high minutes.
These Twitter stat posts continue to not add up. “clutch” scoring efficiency this seasons Tatum : 49.8 TS% Durant : 52.0 TS% Leonard : 56.2 TS% Sengun : 55.0 TS% First off Leonard’s is slightly higher. Second he just grabbed the names of a couple really great players who have bad efficiency in the “clutch” this season that Sengun is slightly better than. Senguns 55.0 TS% is not a good number. There are 100+ players with higher scoring efficiency in “clutch” situations this season. Edit: P.S. this is not a crap on Sengun post. This is a crap on the random stat posts on Twitter.
By the end of next season all 2021 redraft scenarios will have Sengun as #1 by a wide margin. The only reason he is not considered #1 by most people outside of Rockets fans is that he is still somewhat unkown. The Wemby destruction followed by the superlative triple double on national TV will go a long way toward raising awareness of how good he truly is.
He can find the open man when he's being doubled or trippled. That alone is enough to build around him. With the right moves we could turn into an elite 3pt shooting team next season. He has to improve his 3pt shooting and free throws but these are minor, negligible details when you look at the bigger picture. That picture tells me that with cutters and shooters around him we are an easily a playoff team.
I agree with you most but not the final part. He was never a winner in Europe, only played in local/nursing/negligible teams such as local Giresun team, Banvit and 1 year BJK. None of them is on par Efes, Fenerbahce Ulker,Barcelona, Real Madrid etc.
Elite paint scorer + can make the right pass is basically the golden combination for "guy you can build your roster around". Sengun's got that, and the outside shooting--which I see as more of a very nice to have than a strict necessity for your offensive engine--looks to be on its way. He'll probably be a Jokic/early career LeBron/Jimmy Butler level shooting threat before too long, enough that you don't want to drop all the way back into the paint when guarding him.
Is there any major Rockets influencer left who does not think he is our best player and who thinks we should not build around him/holds out hope for someone else to become "the guy"?
