So now you're agreeing with Space Ghost's "Everyone saw recession on the horizon."

Which half of your split brain am I talking to?

Is it the one who tucked tail and moved away from the US, and is now mocking "[you] Americans are so funny"?

Oh yeah, that doesn't have elitist "eccentric billionaire with secret apocolypse tunnels" vibes. You totally won champ.

But if it's that one, kindly Go Fuck Yourself.

The "elites" are folks like YOURSELF who cry about the debt all day and want us to destroy the safety net in the name of fiscal responsibility.

The government should absolutely deficit spend as long as they are investing in proper areas and not tax cuts for the wealthy like Wall Street.

Everyone thought a impending recession was imminent cuz they listened to big bankers and MSM which is why they were all wrong.

You are wrong about b****ing when an R president does it. The Ds only say something when the Rs go spouting off saying the Ds are the fiscally irresponsible party while the Rs spend like drunken sailors. When Trump spends almost as much money in 4 years as Obama spent in 8; yet says he is fiscally responsible. Neither party is fiscally responsible.

    This spending is unsustainable.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 2028 election battle will be about fiscal responsibility. Assuming nothing is burning down or needing bailout....tough order.

You have a uniquely unoriginal habit of taking someone's insult thrown at you and owning it for your own future insults. It's called Projection.

    I kNoW u R diPSheTT, buTT WuT aM i???

I doubt Wall Street is crying with the current cuckoo stock valuations.

    Prove me wrong.

You may be right. It has always been about fiscal responsibility until Trump. Now it has become about social issues. However, even if it is about fiscal responsibility the Rs will talk out of their ass. They (the politicians not the voters) say they are about fiscal responsibility but nothing in their history has proven this to be true. The last time we had a balanced budget was under Clinton's budgets. At least the Ds are honest when they say they want to spend more money. LOL

With the deficit number so large, it's become a game of hot potato where the party who blinks first will have a George HW Bush moment of "No New Taxes."

I think it's unspoken because no non-MAGA (not even folks like Mitch McConnell) genuinely wants Trump to win...

Trump, btw, will spend more and gaslight much more than Dems. I've never disputed that.

Again every legislation the dems introduced was paid for by a offset of tax hikes. The inflation reduction act is paid for a by corporation minimum tax and enhanced tax enforcement. If you read bidens budget request there's a balanced budget there as they are raising taxes.

The issue about Republicans is they refuse to raise taxes but rather cut them even more while claiming to care about the deficit. It's a joke

I am not sure why you're quoting me. I have been a critic of Apples practice for years and refused to purchase their products. Hopefully X kills this model.

If Trump wins, you better have a sizable position in hard assets.

The depressing question is - for the 2028 election, will the DNC put up a solid economic minded candidate (like Yang) or another moronic candidate pushing isolated social issues.

Darth Brandon Doing Work: Biden admin cements new rule to limit credit card late fees
    https://thehill.com/business/4509106-biden-admin-cements-new-rule-to-limit-credit-card-late-fees/

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) finalized a rule Tuesday to limit late payment fees issued by credit card companies, a move the agency says will reduce the typical fee by 75 percent and save U.S. consumers an average of $220 per year.

The consumer watchdog agency estimated the rule would save Americans more than $10 billion in late fees each year and reduce the typical fee from $32 to $8.

    I ain't Mad at it
In Fact - I think all Fees need a salary Cap

If Trump wins,I strongly believe there will be an extreme left candidate emerging for 2028. The centrists have done a decent job in preventing the democrat party from leaning too much to the left. They were only successful because of the fear of someone like Trump. If that becomes a moot point, there is nothing holding other part of the party back.

If Biden loses, it will not be because he is pushing isolated social issues or not having a decent economic mindset. It will be because the left was not able to answer the culture wars by right, IMO

If Trump wins . . .. I expect 2028 to either be his 3rd term or a succession to his hand picked successor (which I suspect will be his VP this time)

Biden will likely lose due to his age, not his social or economic policies. His administration has done well on the economic side, but his social side has faired poorly. The social pendulum has swung too far to the left, engaging the far left and far right lunatics. MAGA has taken a life of its own and is deeply entrenched in social politics, thus producing the clown we call Trump.

What I am ultimately getting at is that Trump will wreck the economy. Its already in a fragile state. It will be interesting to see what programs he pushes. Even if he wrecks the economy, if he places significant resources in key areas, such has infrastructure, energy, real tech and space, long term that will be good. If we continue to ignore domestic issues, that will be bad. Either way, Trump is going to dump massive amounts of fuel on the economy.

If Trumps presidency is embroiled in more stupid social issues (which is a high probability), then I will agree that extremist candidates on both sides will emerge. The likely outcome at this point for 2027 is a poor state of the economy embroiled in social issues.

Its unknown what Harris will do if she becomes president. I find her largely incompetent for POTUS, but I could be wrong. If she becomes president early on, its likely she will leave it as the same place as Trump would.

Or maybe Biden wins and limps across the line. Without a strong leader (the same applies to Trump), the remainder of the world will take advantage of this and step up, both good and bad. We need a leader who can get up in front of the nation w/out making a ton of gaffs, talking about ice cream and chocolate chip cookies or rambling nonsensical. There is a sharp contrast between 2019 Biden and 2023 Biden. And most people know that the rate of decline in elderly people gets worse over time, not better.

The USSC has been pretty fair. I haven't seen a ruling I disagreed with. I am sure you will dismiss the border ruling as a fluke.

    What NewRoxFans says

REMEMER: Washington's two-term limit became the unwritten rule for all Presidents until 1940.
The Twenty-second Amendment to the United States Constitution was an addition to the United States Constitution that put a limit on how many times a person could be elected to be President. A person is limited to being elected twice, or once if they have already served more than two years as President. Congress passed the amendment on March 1947. It was ratified on February 27, 1951.

Since 1985, there have been many attempts to either change or remove this amendment. This began when Ronald Reagan was serving his second term as President. Since then, changes have been tried from both Democrats and Republicans. No changes have been made.

    Per: https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/T...first president,for all Presidents until 1940.
