He’s gone. Our scouts were sent to look at Punters during the combine.

Apparently considering their options at punter. Maybe want to go younger? (Do punters really age? Ha.) Not sure.

I’m referring to you saying CMC was the best back last year but not the year before and going year by year. In the end, CMC is the best back in the league going forward. He’s had the same if not worse injury history than Barkley, he’s a year older than saquon and got traded a year prior to where saquon is now. He got put in a new system (very similar to ours) and has become even better and helped lead them to the Super Bowl.
All I’m saying, is do you think the niners are regretting taking a chance on a 26yr old RB with injury history and potential skills to be elite?

furthermore, as others have stated, no, there isn’t a franchise RB in this draft. I could be convinced of some of the other FA available but I prefer Barkley.

finally, it’s really a risk reward thing. I understand there is risk with Barkley, but a 3 year- 36 mil (what was posted as potential deal) does not hurt us in ANY way. It’s off the books before we need to pay the important people. And if he’s 80% of what CMC has been then it will have been a BARGAIN.

    THIS.
He’s lights out inside of 40 (can’t stress that enough) and gives great chances all the way up to 60 yards.

as we have seen, that’s not a common occurrence.

What about Henry on a 2 year guaranteed deal instead? As you said, he's a freak of nature and was ranked #3 vs with the worst offensive line last year.

If you could lock up either at the same price for 2 years would you take Barklay over Henry?

Saquon Barkley | New York Giants
    • Age: 27
    • 2023 salary: $10.1 million
    • 2023 stats: 247 carries for 962 yards and six touchdowns
    • 2024 Spotrac market estimate: Three years, $29.9 million ($10 million AAV)
    Derrick Henry | Tennessee Titans
    • Age: 30
    • 2023 salary: $10.5 million
    • 2023 stats: 280 carries for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns
    • 2024 Spotrac market estimate: One year, $10.3 million ($10.3 million AAV)

So far the most important signing by the Texans.

Would love to get Jerry Jeudy, but it better be cheap. I wanted him last off season too.
There is some untapped potential there

Cam doesn't get enough credit for killing the ball inside the 20. He has length when needed and touch when needed.

I'd like to stand on the table like Rockstar Wade for one Darious Williams should Nelson no re-sign. Low 60 rating when targeted the past 2 seasons. He is familiar with the division and will have some 'revenge at bats' against JAX. And a year younger than Nelson.

Restructure Tunsil and Howard and let Greenard walk and I think it’ll work. Also cut Woods. Resign Barnett opposite WAJ. I can see Nick waiting on the dust to settle with FA RBs since there will be so many available.

Still want my trade up for Bowers even with Schultz resigned. MOAR weapons for CJ!
