I'm just desperate for some sign, any sign that they're trying to rein in the ugly three point attempts and get him to only shoot on balance, in rhythm, when open.

In his last five games Green has gone 17 for 50 from three (10 attempts at 34%). That includes both 34 point games by the way. Tell me, should a guy shooting 31% from three on the season be taking 10 three point attempts per game?

 

Atleast he was being aggressive and attacking the basket when his shot wasnt falling. This was an issue before where he would just stop being aggressive when he missed shots. I think he did that great, lets just focus on the positives for a moment man relax a bit.

Doesn't make sense to call out Jalen who was the 2nd or 3rd best player on the court tonight. If Jalen is hitting 47% overall and 10 of 13 inside the arc that's definitely ok when Sengun is going crazy on offense. We needed the fire power and the only other alternative tonight would have been FVV. When FVV takes too many shots, he is no more efficient than Jalen Green so there's really no good alternative. I would have liked to see Jabari get a few more 3's though.

Having said that, I also want Udoka to limit Jalen's 3's and distant mid range jumpers heavily. Force him to attack the rim more often, push more in transition and instead of those shots get 1-2 more assists. We're actually SO close to a good balance from Jalen, I wonder if Udoka sees it. Put a hard limit on stepback/distant 3pters and complicated midrange jumpers - Udoka has to stop being patient for Jalen to improve his own shot selection and impose it on him. Players like Jalen should not be taking more than 3-5 3pters per game on average. He already reduced these from last season but just not enough.

 

I really like how Ime goes with whoever is producing. Very Rudy T like! Jabari wasn’t bringing it and Cam was, so he stuck with Cam. Jabari has been very lucky actually that Tari hasn’t been there so he hasn’t felt the pressure as much as Jalen.

 

Has to be the best center performance in 2000's. He kept targeting wemby got between him and the rim and created the advantage he needed then kept pump faking until he found the opening to elevate and score. Wemby was very jumpy, trying to block it behind Sengun so Sengun didn't jump with him instead he jumped when Wemby was coming down to take his reach advantage away from him. It was a masterclass. He did the exact same thing when he played against Chet. He gets between them and the rim so they stay behind his back. Not only they lose their reach advantage against him, sengun can sell fouls better because they lower their arms and touch his head, shoulders, arms. His midgame adjustments are telling me what i need to know about his future. He reads the game while he is playing it while his heartbeat is 170 bpm. To be able to make adjustments when the game is being played while you are in disadvantageous position is the rarest skill im bb. Ppl call it 'switching up'. Few players switch up when it's not going their way. They go from not being able to hit the rim to cook you in 3 consecutive possesions. Because they figure you out, your weakness and exploit it while the others are not capable of changing their approach. Like Green. He kept taking same step back 3s and kept bricking it. He wasn't terrible but what i'm saying is generally 4th q Green isn't doing things differently than 1st quarter Green.
