Elon is abusing lawsuits for marketing and various reasons. Remember when he sued Twitter? Billionaires have the means to clog and complicate matters through lawsuits. This one is likely to backfire. He attracted some talented AI researchers who might now think twice about working for him.

OpenAI response in a blog with receipt.

    https://openai.com/blog/openai-elon-musk

As we discussed a for-profit structure in order to further the mission, Elon wanted us to merge with Tesla or he wanted full control. Elon left OpenAI, saying there needed to be a relevant competitor to Google/DeepMind and that he was going to do it himself. He said he’d be supportive of us finding our own path.

In late 2017, we and Elon decided the next step for the mission was to create a for-profit entity. Elon wanted majority equity, initial board control, and to be CEO. In the middle of these discussions, he withheld funding. Reid Hoffman bridged the gap to cover salaries and operations.

We couldn’t agree to terms on a for-profit with Elon because we felt it was against the mission for any individual to have absolute control over OpenAI. He then suggested instead merging OpenAI into Tesla. In early February 2018, Elon forwarded us an email suggesting that OpenAI should “attach to Tesla as its cash cow”, commenting that it was “exactly right… Tesla is the only path that could even hope to hold a candle to Google. Even then, the probability of being a counterweight to Google is small. It just isn’t zero”. [2]

Elon soon chose to leave OpenAI, saying that our probability of success was 0, and that he planned to build an AGI competitor within Tesla. When he left in late February 2018, he told our team he was supportive of us finding our own path to raising billions of dollars. In December 2018, Elon sent us an email saying “Even raising several hundred million won’t be enough. This needs billions per year immediately or forget it.”

Elon understood the mission did not imply open-sourcing AGI. As Ilya told Elon: “As we get closer to building AI, it will make sense to start being less open. The Open in openAI means that everyone should benefit from the fruits of AI after its built, but it's totally OK to not share the science...”, to which Elon replied: “Yup”. [4]

We're sad that it's come to this with someone whom we’ve deeply admired—someone who inspired us to aim higher, then told us we would fail, started a competitor, and then sued us when we started making meaningful progress towards OpenAI’s mission without him.

Actually Tiktok is probably up there as well. Facebook and X have the older folks which are traditionally the most dedicated and reliable voters. But the number of bots certainly throws off the numbers. The old system of measuring these things still relies on a world of landlines and pre-bots. I don't think it's caught up with reality on the ground.

Agreed. Biden should have put up a 'for sale to the highest bidder' sign in the White House front yard.

LOL at SG's takes. X does not come anywhere close to having the most valuable data for elections. Data from isolated political echo chambers, which X excels at, will lead you down to conspiracy thoughts like 'Paul Pelosi was having sex with the hammer guy'. FB data was a gold mine for psychological profiles and micro-targeting, and even that might not have been that successful. Let's also not forget the fact that the FCC has made it very illegal to mine private data without consent and use that for election engineering.

trump meeting with musk, then meeting with orban. Neither a surprise, trump needs money fast and they share the same political philosophy.

Yeah let's just jump to the opposite extreme. Very typical for partisans.

    CNN does?
It doesn't matter if it's a cesspool of an echo chamber. X has a significant pulse on politics.

    Lol @ illegal. So naive.

I'm simply pointing out your example of crony capitalism and elitism. Biden, for god sake, should have played that game.

"Trump will give hime everything he wants. 10k EV credits for 4 years? Removing regulatory barriers for SpaceX? Stricter car import regulations? We can go on and on and on."

Who suggested the Biden administration should have sold out? I'm not sure why you went that direction.
The administration has been very biased in the EV discussions and hasnt been very supportive of SpaceX.
Partisan forget these are real Americans working at the companies trying to do the best for our country. Instead you partisans get pissy because spaceman said something you don't like.
Union votes isn't going to cut it anymore.

    FEC.

X is a place rife with echo chambers and faux political outrage that do not represent the reality for the general public. Good luck persuading the lean voters with that data set.

You are failing to recognize your bedrock principle of bothsidesism here. Biden absolutely should not govern for what he believes is best for Americans, but to govern for what's best for him, for elitism, and crony capitalism. He should have sold out and gotten Musk on his side. It would have been a landslide win for him. But he was too stupid.

Lol.. specifically the bold parts. First part, you’re wrong. Twitter (I refuse to call it X) is invaluable for the following:

Politics - doesn’t matter if it’s Trump or AOC - they are both high strung attention whores but get clicks and reactions. Similar to your reaction I’m quoting.

Attention whores and the ones that can’t help but respond - there’s a few on this site. We all know who they are, including you.

Breaking news - errbody gotta be first to say or break the story. Doesn’t matter if you’re reporting a turtle farting or “ The Decision” by Lebron James.
If you ain’t first, you’re last. Being last amongst the fake internet society of b****ing and moaning instead of getting off your ass… must be depressing.

Second part, you’re clearly incompetent, or should I say, ignorant(?) when it comes to what privacy is vs what data can be mined and the repercussions of it. “Illegal” is a loose term in the vastly unregulated internet. Your iPhone T&Cs may try to tell you all about that, but who reads that ****?

... and for anyone that believes musk isn't hiding all sorts of "investment" he is making to help republicans including trump win, musk has a bridge he would like to sell you...

What purveyor of maga disinformation missed was: Ogg's life partner inadvertently voted as Ogg at their polling location, that once Ogg was told her vote was already cast, that the local elections official was able to identify and correct the situation so she was able to vote. In other words, the process worked. Of course, the maga car salesman didn't mention that in his disinformation about vote fraud.

I guess it is safer having the maga car sales man ranting about rich ex-wives that important things like border security and elections security...

The maga car salesman trying to rile up ignorant maga types again... this time suggesting that Democrats are trying to cheat the system via the Census. The United States Constitution calls for a count of *all* *residents* (not citizens) and that the count will be used for apportionment purposes. This isn't something Democrats are doing to cheat.

Im a little confused by your point. Are you suggesting that illegals do not contribute to the census count, which leads to more house seats for that state?

His statement isn't entire inaccurate. Lets put it this way, if the DNC/Biden Administration is trying to play the long game with illegals in hopes to get them more house seats, that is incredibly stupid. That said, my opinion of politicians suggest they very well maybe doing that. But more likely, they are just incompetent with border security and they can eventually blame Harris since this is suppose to be her thing.
