Next week can't come soon enough. So tired of seeing the same back and forth all over social media regarding Barkley. At this point, I just want to know what we end up doing.
YES!!!! Can you imagine Wilkins, Greenard and Anderson on defense? Man would that be fun to watch. Then, add the best defensive stud in our first pick.
Reality is they want to get PAID and it would be nice if it was for HOUSTON, but anywhere with the $ would do.
So true. If someone offers them a couple more million, or a better long term deal they can be easily persuaded.
Technically both will not be re-signed rather than cut, same as Greenard. Money Talks. Way too loudly at times. I'll be honest, I'm hoping we have a Brent Strom Guru in the making. Coaches bringing out unexpectedly good performance from players struggling under others. But don't let your memory fool you. He had some failures too.
It's all about the money. Perhaps it should be or perhaps other things matter too. But not to most athletes.
My hope is we cut Woods, restructure Tunsil and Howard and then sign Wilkins, one of these LBs, resign Greenard, Singletary and Nelson and let Schultz walk. Then move up and draft Bowers.
Agree. That would be good. I just hope Howard can stay healthy this season. He's gone on injured reserve 3 of his 5 years on the team. If only he and the rest of our offensive linemen could be more like Bruce Matthews. Matthews played every position on the offensive line throughout his NFL career, starting in 99 games as a left guard, 87 as a center, 67 as a right guard, 22 as a right tackle, 17 as a left tackle, and was the long snapper on field goals, PATs, and punts. Having never missed a game due to injury, Matthews' 293 NFL games started is the third most of all time, behind quarterbacks Brett Favre and Tom Brady. We have a lot of guys who can't go one season without missing games. The same goes for defense. Let's hope our guys can stay healthy all year. Guys like Bill Romanowski, Derrick Brooks, and London Fletcher played over 200 consecutive starts, and it's crazy how many of the starters on our team both on offense and defense missed games for injuries, or ended up on injured reserve in one season.
