Benign does NOT necessarily mean it can turn into malignant.

There is a chance, and that chance you cannot take....

The gripe with high intensity and competitive sports is that wear and tear on the bone/surrounding muscle tissures is x fold stronger than any normal human contact.

Then you have a growth like that......that severely flared up and caused stress fractures in the bone....and would not heal properly.

Rockets seeking medical advice from doctors outside their facilities shows you that this was a very serious thing.....they have not given the utmost importance from the start.

You do not even have to be a medical expert to count 1 and 1 together.

I don’t think the food in Miami, Chicago or LA is as good as Houston. The quality of restaurants food in Houston is more consistent. There is just surprisingly strong pride in food in Houston.

This is a lesson in medical privacy for the BBS. People accusing the Rockets of incompetence because they didn’t tell you months ago.

The CBA has a clause that protects the player’s privacy on some medical matters. Based on mom’s tweet, Rockets were likely compelled not to release details of a benign growth until Tari consented. But now with surgery, at this point complete transparency works best for the player’s career.

Also, even when the team is allowed to release details relating to basketball injuries without consent, they often stay vague or go with best diagnosis. They don’t announce worst-case because that can unnecessarily impact the player’s market value, which helps the player as well as the team.

I don’t know why fans expect news equivalent to a family consultation with a team a doctors. :)

Did they say they will put a rod in the leg? That would mean it will be broken/needs to be stabilized.

I had a rod in my leg once and got a horrible staphylococcus infection, had to take extremely strong antibiotics for a year. When I would forget to take them, would get a very high fever. It was a nightmare.

I hope Tari gets spared from any complications.

But if they have to put a rod in, then this is NOT a minor procedure.

With a rod, I doubt the 4 months timeline.

No clue or sense of awareness, as usual.

Udoka wanted a playoff culture. He couldn’t contain his inner Pat Beverley

I always thought the food was a bit overrated in Houston. I've had a lot of bad or mediocre meals. There's also a shocking number of bad chain restaurants, including those offered by our dear owner.

It's only great if you drive all over the place to little ethnic holes in the wall--diverse, inexpensive food from various cultures is definitely a strength of the Houston area--but that requires a lot of driving around in one of most annoying cities to get around in the developed world. (To be fair, LA is even worse to get around in, but also has a diverse food scene.)

It's just a totally different vibe in cities like Chicago and New York--the best food is a lot more accessible IMO since all the central neighborhoods are mixed-use, dense, and walkable.

Houston clears LA and Chicago pretty handily. Only New York compares and even then I'd still take Houston. Miami isn't in the conversation or anywhere near it. It wouldn't even be in my top 10. Its a gimmick city like Vegas or Austin.

Miami has gotten a lot better over the past couple of years. It doesn’t have amazing diversity but what it has is spectacular. Lots of Michelin starred creative latin and asian fusion spots that are flat out delicious.

    Houston over LA and Chicago?
    Come on man…

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.

That said even tho I prefer some other cities in terms of food scene, Houston is still top notch.

That’s fair but at some point this topic becomes a bit subjective.

At the end of the day, I just wanted to state that the food in Houston is pretty fantastic even tho I prefer a few other cities to it.

Well, glad he is getting it resolved. Will need him next year when we are actually expecting to be a playoff contender. Alpi and (maybe) Jalen will be year 4, Jabari and Tari will be year 3, Amen and Cam will be over the Rookie hump so with a few choice free agent vets and potentially a top tier player coming from the draft, the Rockets should be sitting in the 7th or 8th seed this time next year.

Get well Tari, we miss ya and are send out prayers.

Lots of posts and tweets from people limited medical post history who are suddenly physiology PhDs.

Very amazing to see this sudden intellectual heightening in our community from a post-game presser announcement.
