100%. It’s sad but this is our reality. Very few teams in the league would swap situations with the Rockets, be it for this year or the next 5 years.

Banchero and Chet were already off the table when he team was gonna draft, I mean what do you want Stone to do then?

OKC looks really good if you are so jealous of SGA, Chet and JDub why not just be a Thunder fan? Whining we aren't OKc or pining for players we had no chance to get just makes no sense.

    Huh????

Outside of OKc and Orlando there's no team better positioned than the Rockets. OKc is GMed by the goat GM and Orlando sucked for 15 yrs before they finally got it right.

You aright no team wants to be in the Rox situation. They only have an all star candidate at age 21 along with 4 other young studs and a top 10 pick incoming next year. What a sucky situation no other team wants to be in amirite

Some of us are fans of the whole NBA, so it does not really matter.

We just want the Rox to do well and watch exciting bball on the side.

Win win, at least I am not narrow minded.

Telling peeps to bugger off is another copium I get it.

Both are on different trajectories should be okay, in the long run accepting realities is what matters and not daydreaming.

Saying the team sucks because it is inferior to OKC doesn't mean you want the team to do well. That's like going to your wife and saying she is ugly cuz she isn't as beautiful as Gigi Hadid.

All this doom and gloom and belittling our own players is pathetic. And then when Amen or Sengun has a monster game the posters here do a turnarond and talk about how amazing they are. Wtf. A bunch of psychos.

No you stfu. If you know they were off the table why you keep whining? Why not whine we didn't get Shaq, Lebron, Kobe and Tim Duncan while you are at it?

Complain we don't have Chet or Banchero and then admit Rox had no chance to get them? Lol wtf.

Aren't you the same dude complaining Jabari is scoring too little while ignoring he gets so few attempts? Lol

It's not all doom and gloom. Sengun, Amen and Cam are all high level prospects with Star upside. Jabari and Tari are great two way players. They are still young. Bulls, Heat, Raptors, Blazers, and Pistons would all swap positions with us if given the chance.

I dont even think for us it's a talent issue. It's organizational. I want Stone off of this team and I wish we had a real owner. To think one day we're going to have baby Ferntits running this organization.

There are teams that are right around our W/L% and are paying multiple veterans max salaries and have very little young talent. It could definitely be a lot worse

I actually think the next steps should be more organisational than roster focused. We need: Offensive coordinator, better player development (because we need our guys to hit and every single one of our guys has at least one flaw to overcome to be a legit star,) better doctors/injury specialists - what the **** did they do to Tari? We've got the picks we've got, cut ties with Green if you decide he's completely done, but don't repeat the same mistake with what we have left.

LOL so you are just complaining like a b*tch then?

Just admit you wanted mediocrity and try to somehow get a franchise without tanking.

Doomposting around here has been crazy recently. No need to get pessimistic. This organization has very fixable issues and we have multiple young guys with huge potential. Just because one of the guys we depended upon for this team to be successful turned out to be a disappointment does not mean that this core is all worthless.

Also no need to be depressed even if we did not have Tari, Amen or Cam.......

    Life is short enough.

I like defensive potential of Tari, Amen, JSJ, and Brooks for the 2-4.

    Love Sengun's offense.

Love Cam's offense minus lack of passing.

Team depends too much on FVV. Really need a secondary ball handler and someone to replace him as primary ballhandler over the next year.

Adams could be a great fit defensively if healthy.

    On going forward on draft:
I want Sheppard, Risacher, Williams, or Sarr if possible. Outside that, I'm going with either a floor spacer with defensive upside, Dunn with hope of at least adding a 3 point shoot or pray for a trade for a future FRP. I think Sheppard is one of the few short players that I think would fit with Amen.

For MLE, I'd give it all to Bitadze and hope a team with cap space doesn't offer more. Minus Bitadze, I'd try to keep Holiday.

I'm fine using Green as matching salary in a deal to bring in someone much better. I'd not trade Green just to trade Green as he's just a high upside lottery ticket at this point.

I'd offer 3 future FRPs for Trae. He's probably the worst player that I'd deal multiple FRPs for. If the Rockets win the lottery with their pick, I'd offer number 1 pick and Brooklyn 2024 pick for him using Green and other expiring deals. Trae and Sengun would fit offensively. Not sure defensively. I'd give it a try for a year or 2 and deal the worse of the 2 if it doesn't work.

If NBA is seriously considering getting rid of defensive 3 seconds, draft Clingan.

There is what we got right now

    and

    What that may grow into.

Nope, dont see multiple superstars yet.
Will any be that one day?
That is the hope and the plan.

All you can do is gamble when the time seems right and hope it works out.
Speculation seems to turn into fact if its repeated enough times around here.

But the fact is, no one can say what the future brings.
So the same guys we got right now will be something else in 3 or 4 years.
Some better, some much better, some out of the league.

I so wish I could fast forward to training camp and see what looks different.

I am so torn between investing in what we have vs replacing some pieces and rolling the dice with some different dudes.

I disagree that you cannot see....I think good scouts can see at least that guys like Jalen Green should not be picked....

We can argue if Jabari is going to be an All Star or not because that is not the worst pick like Jalen Green was.

It is not an embarrassing discussion at the very least.

We have an amazing team, you guys just don’t see it takes more than a season to wash off the filthy habits we instilled in these players the past few years.

We can dump FVV and Brooks using Jalen Green and a pick or two. We’d be sitting on a HC whose been to the Finals and respected by FA’s, a culture that FA’s won’t laugh at, highly talented youth base, tons of cap room and future picks.

You had me up to the point where you want to trade for Trae… I just don’t like the offense only nature of his game.
