We'll see how serious they are about this but yup the ORtings continue to rise to as high as its ever been. I have no idea either or who would even be given the freedom to completely counter today's approach. They'd get fired by today's standards before even seeing any results

How is Miami "winning" with defense? 11 teams have better records. 3 other teams are tied with them. They are in the dead middle. The very definition of mediocrity.

That chart is for the last 10 games only. Miami is 7-3 with the 2nd best defense and 21st offense over that 10 game span.

10 games is a small sample size, a bit misleading.

Kirk's efficiency landscape posts are a regular throughout the entire season and not isolated at random times. typically 1-2 weeks time of intervals. So for anyone who sees them regularly, progress or lack thereof can be much easily tracked. He does it for both sides of the ball also

Rockets really tanked for 3 seasons just to end up with a young core headlined by Jalen, Jabari, Sengun, and Amen

it doesn’t get more mediocre and flawed than that

    our future isn’t that bright

And Whitmore and Eason. And picks, including a potentially top ten pick for this year, that can be used in conjugation with our young core to make a big move.

While our future is TBD, the whole purpose of tanking wasn't just to get a franchise player.

Didn't some body somewhere say that a "stress fracture" can take longer than a clean fracture to heal?

a one dimensional gunner and a solid role player plus a top 10 pick in a pathetic draft

    meh

getting a franchise player is the main reason for tanking, and our young core is nothing special

LOL.... Well they don't just give out franchise players......

So you think having mid FRP drafts and being mediocre to average is the better way to get a franchise player?

I guess you just needed to complain.

It's really simple, you get a franchise player by signing one in FA, trading for one and drafting one.

I'm going to keep stressing this over and over.

No one had SGA as a franchise player at 20 years old. This is true of most star player outside of the few like Wemby that come in and light the league on fire right away.

Some players are a slow burn and have to mature a bit.

Speaking of one of those players, Jabari has been flashing his potential all year long, putting up numbers that few people do at his age but everyone wants to be so negative about everything that it doesn't get recognized.

Outside of Jalen, the young core is fine. Jalen is bad because he's the only one that hasn't improved much from last season to this.

Should add, you could play a game, post 5 random stat lines of 20 year old players with one being one of our players and the others being MVPs and/or Champions and good luck spotting the difference. Just think its a little hasty to say we've drafted nothing but role players.

y’all keep talking about SGA, but both Chet and Jalen Williams look better than any of our current young players right now too

Jabari is flashing some potential…Paolo just made the ASG, and Chet is way better than Bari as well…those 2 are what you’d hope to be seeing from a top pick

Jabari gets a B- at best for his career so far

What special numbers are Jabari putting up? I hope it’s not some “he’s 1 of 5 players to have 1000 points, 500 rebounds, and 200 threes at age 20” or whatever arbitrary stats Rockets Twitter loves to throw out

Jalen is a flat out bust atp until further notice which is a huge setback

I think the mistake is comparing every other situation to ours. It's not just SGA, look at Jokic or Giannis or Jaylen Brown or Kawhi, there's a long list of players that don't look special at Jabari's age in particular, it's his 2nd season. Sengun has taken a pretty huge leap...for most of the season any way.

Those numbers you bring up though goes to show that playing in the NBA ain't easy at his age. That he's doing that and it doesn't feel special because most guys at 20 suck.

I think the rest of these guys have flashed something, if one or two of them puts it together, we have something.

Amen has amazing athletic ability, can't shoot, but he can do everything else.
Cam scores with ease sometimes, NBA body already.
Tari was Ime's favorite player or something, Ime compared him to Kawhi IIRC I can find that quote.
Jabari has improved his weaknesses, can actually drive, rebounds, I think he just needs to bulk up.
Sengun was dominating the low post so much that now he gets doubled teamed because other teams know he's a force down low.

I'm just not writing them all off. Some guys take longer to become star players (if they ever do) and some guys are already in their prime. There's been many guys who have their best years their first few years in the NBA.

I'm writing off Jalen though. I agree, he's a bust until proven otherwise. Would be great if he turned it around and finished off the season doing something special but I doubt it.
