Seems like this was only yesterday...lol. Oh well, Enjoy getting traded for pennies on the dollar and maybe getting 10-15 min a night off the bench for another team next season.

I'm surprised they let Iko write this, that's a telling sign from the front office. He wouldn't say all this without their approval. Also, I'm kind of surprised we still have a (seemingly large) group of people who believe in Jalen and just think it's a fit issue. I am pretty confident he will not thrive on another team. I don't think it's got anything to do with fit. I just don't think he's very good. I guess we'll see. I've been wrong many times before.

I hope he gets it together and becomes a productive player but I agree, I am not high on him becoming a great player.

Just to be clear so I understand what you're saying here - you think if Jalen was on Indiana or Boston that he would be a starter? I don't even think he would come off the bench in Boston. I think he would get 0 minutes on Boston and probably less than 10 on Indiana, possibly 0 there as well.

Jalen is frustrated in the building and fans are frustrated watching at home. Oh how much happier we would all be if Jalen could hit wide open shots, or be able to drive the lane without getting the ball stripped.

“The easiest path to Green’s success is to simplify things.

For example, if you sit close enough to the scorer’s table during games, you can hear Udoka yelling at his players to cut when Şengün has the ball in his hands. Green also is scoring a better-than-average 1.35 points per possession on cuts, but he’s averaging less than one per game. That can’t happen, especially given how athletic Green is and how quickly he can move without the ball toward the rim. He somehow misses this dunk, losing the ball on the way up, but you get the point.

Green’s overall shooting numbers don’t wow you, but since the All-Star break, he’s taking more catch-and-shoot looks than pull-ups, which shows a deeper understanding of the game. On the season, Green is shooting 38 percent on “open” catch-and-shoot 3s, where the nearest defender is 4 to 6 feet away per NBA.com tracking data. But that only comprises about half of his 6.5 attempts a game. I see it as a two-way street; Green should do simple things like cutting more and his other teammates (and coaches) should try to generate more open 3s for him.

I don’t see the benefit of moving him to the bench. Maybe if this was a 50-win bunch, but not with how this team is set up. Udoka places far more importance on the five players who finish a game than the ones who are on the floor for tipoff. There are some in the fan base who want Thompson to supplant Green in the starting lineup and there are those who want Whitmore. The Rockets have a goal to take no fewer than 40 3s a game and want to improve their spacing. Thompson isn’t a good enough floor spacer to start games in that manner (despite his potential), and Whitmore is a better shooter but isn’t a better overall decision-maker.

I asked Udoka earlier in the season if he would ever consider moving Green to the bench and he shut the question down. I don’t see it happening with six weeks left in the regular season.”

but those are two things he’s shown repeatedly that he can’t do. Add in the defensive question marks and you are talking about a #2 pick bust. Straight up. It happens. Worst thing we can do is live with a mistake. It’s time for our GM to shrink the ego, cut our losses and move on.

"Can the Rockets find a way to get Jabari more involved or is he doomed to cover up defensively for offensive-centric, defensive turnstiles like Şengün . . . ? — Pete D. "

It is everyone else's fault but Jalen's. Pathetic.

I'm as out on Jalen on the next guy....but those year 1/2 percentages compared to this year is really perplexing.

This is just another domino falling in the life cycle of being a bust.

Its a slower process than we'd like but generally teams dont just rip the bandaid off. They have to ease into getting rid of high picks like Jalen because of politics and optics.

Its ramping up and will eventually culminate in him being moved this off season.

Dillon stands there. Menacingly. Intimidates the paint right off of Jalen's nails.

you stole my post! :) exactly what I was thinking.

If he was hitting his open shots and we were seeing that he wasn't getting as many open shots as he should be, that would be one thing. But him getting open shots and shooting under 30% on those? You can't leave a guy like that in very long, because it clogs up everything else. Defenses don't have to sag when he gets the ball...they'll dare him to shoot it....and that creates spacing issues for everyone else; not the other way around.
