Could be just me BUT if I don't TRUST someone, well.....I just don't trust them. And if you're saying you don't trust Shaq, you shouldn't. Most pundits may watch a team 3 or 4 times out of the course of the yr, if that many. And the only analyst/former player I halfway trust is Kenny Smith on TNT. Barkley and Shaq are just there for fodder. I trust MY eyes, the NBA is about length and shooting. You have to have length in the paint and you have to be able to shoot from the outside, we have neither. And fans are wondering why are we losing. To be honest, I like Sengun but I just don't know where to play him, since he's a small center. PF? No, he's too slow. Every elite team that has 7fts, so what do we do?
He is by default.... I don't think folks want to admit things a bit more TBD than they want to admit.
So how come the Rockets don't have a better player than a 21-year-old undersized, slow-footed center with no shooting threat after drafting 3 top-4 picks and spending $70+ million in free agency?
Just like it took Sacramento, Orlando and other teams years and years to become relevant again, it may take the Rockets the same timeframe. Years of bad choices, bad draft picks and bad free agent signings. Teams drafted Sabonis, Enes Kanter and others thinking they were a good pick, a good fit and they were good originally but long term, they were not the answer.
Using Sabonis and Kanter in the same sentence as if they are anything alike pretty much sums up your basketball knowledge. And I don't know why, but I do have a feeling that you'd include Jokic and Nowitzki in that sentence as well if they were not fcking Finals MVPs. Do you see the only common thing about the players you constantly sh*t on?
Not-so-hot takes: Tari+Bari+Alperen will have zero problems on defense in a few years — perennial top 5 defense. Tari and Bari will C&S with the best of them. It's all about the backcourt. Amen and ...? I love what Fred and DB have brought, but I am excited to not rely on them. I suspect Amen will kick Fred out of here by next trade deadline. We god damn better have found a legit shooting guard.
@maypk ALL THREE ARE EXACTLY ALIKE. SAME SIZE, SAME STRENGTHS AND SAME WEAKNESSES Enes Canter - 6'10, smaller center, main quality was OFFENSE, weakest quality was defense Sabonis - 6'10, smaller center, main quality is OFFENSE, weakest quality is defense SENGUN - 6'10, smaller center, main quality is OFFENSE, weakest quality is defense. I know you're a fan of Sengun and that's fine but there is only ONE WAY you can build around him. You need a 7ft or taller shot blocking PF who can shoot 3s AND you need a 6'10 or taller SF. Jabari would be a perfect SF next to Sengun but we need that PF. Ive been at this a longtime and Sengun on this team will NEVER, EVER work unless they put length and shooting around him to hide his weaknesses. That's why Sacramento isnt going anywhere.
Some other amazing takes by @hlmbasketball Never forget that @hlmbasketball was also a massive Christian Wood stan.
I'd be incredibly embarrassed if I couldn't tell the difference between Enes Kanter and Alperen Sengun. Your viewpoint already warrants no respect, you'd at least think you'd try and make sure you could spell the guy's name right to save some bit of credibility.
