Went with my kids. Superbly done. My kids loved it. 95% on rotten tomatoes and that's about right. Song/musical pieces were really well done. It loses 5% because it is indeed a little formulaic. If you have young ones go see it.
Loved it too! This movie was great, and the songs stick in your head. One of the best Disney films in quite some time.
I heard they named it 'Vaiana' in other countries. Moana was taken by a p0rnstar. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/films/20...ew-film-moana-to-avoid-confusion-with-p*rn-s/
This is probably one of my favorite Disney films in a while, outside of Pixar. Wife and I are looking forward to buying it when it hits bluray.....
Disney is still so drunk on it's (ever-fading) power and influence that it's going to release Moana 2 and a live-action Moana reboot pretty close to each other. The Rock will be in both of them, but the girl voicing Moana will be different for the live action. This seems like an obviously bad idea, and one that they absolutely don't have to do. Someone, please, stop them.
My kids and millions of other kids can’t wait. They give zero ****s for culture war bullshit or that the girl will be different. And the ladies love the Rock so that’s a point for taking the kids or streaming it 3x a day for months.
I think my kids haven't liked any of the live action movies. At best, it will be "that was ok" (Little Mermaid). And Rock isn't the draw he once was. It has nothing to do with culture war. It has to do with terrible movies.
