I remember when just chewing gum and dribbling looked like hard work for Jabari his rookie year. Now he is smooth. Hmm progression, season to season. What do you know.
Add on minutes played, steals any other stat and you’ll have a number of “first others in NBA history” cherry picking was exposed long ago.
He's still got a lot of growth needed (literally, he needs to fill out more), but it's absurd how some people refuse to acknowledge how young he is in regards to his performance, even though we've seen clear growth from year 1 to year 2. Those same people would have been screaming to get Dirk Nowitzki or Jermaine O'Neal the hell out of here when they were Jabari's age.
Dirk's a good example. Even in his 2nd year he only had 15 or more rebounds once. Jabari's already done that 5 times this year, and it's not over. Their shooting percentages were similar. Dirk YR 2 46.1 FG% 37.9 3PT% 6.5 REB Jabari YR 2 45.5 FG% 36.5 3PT% 8.6 REB
Been calling him the new Dirk since March the year he was drafted. Dirk was a little quicker and had very slightly better ball handling but they play similar. Jabari needs a turnaround fade shot like Dirk to be truly unstoppable
I doubt that Cuban even suspected that he was going to win MVP and then subsequently getting bounced in the 1st Round by the Believe Worriers.
This thread became the defacto Jabari thread; whether he plays good or bad. Does the title bother folks?... Is there one out there that's maybe neutral we can use.
Most the time I agree, but these particular stats are still pretty impressive and make the point about his age.
Durant is a good mentor for him and he’s not actually playing center as a backup He’s a hybrid center and wing with the suns the talent is clearly there
Too early to give up on Jabari, he has so many flaws in his game, he has the physical tools to be a great defender, but I believe he has very limited offense, not so high and not so low on him, but needs one more season to have mature his game..
I don't give a **** about his offensive accomplishments. He has to work with Ime, the coaching staff, Hakeem, etc. to get his defense top notch. It's been **** all season....
He does post up in the low and mid block. He usually does a turn around or fade after one or two backdown tries. He just needs to work on lower body strength to build a solid base.
He grabs 8 boards a game and 23 games with 10 or more including a season high 18 in DEC. I think you need to go back and watch each and every game.
