All true, now the question is - what do you do with him? You have to make a decision on paying him soon - and if you don't believe he will be the DUDE or he is blocking someone you do believe will be the DUDE, you have to move him on. DD
They would be liable for defamation ONLY IF they released some bullshit DM's or something like that, AND they got enough traction to actually damage Jalen's reputation. As of right now, this is just some guy talking out of his ass to a very small community of listeners. For a defamation claim to have teeth, there has to be some reputational damage to Jalen. He's a public figure so the standard is different for him. It is expected that randos will talk **** about him, but it would only rise to the level of defamation if it got serious national traction and ended up hurting his trade value or something along those lines. That's why Roosh and all these other clowns are safe to talk about this stuff when nobody is really gonna hear it, but he would never release anything that was fake because then he could actually be sued if it blew up.
Let me make sure i've got this right: 1) Jalen was upset by Roosh's tweeted opinion and DM'd him something "aggressive," and others have seen the DMs. Nobody has revealed if the DMs themselves contained actual threats. 2) Jalen supposedly called Roosh and said something threatening, but since nobody else heard the call because it wasn't recorded there's zero corroboration, that makes it just one influencer's word. 3) Jalen was a dick toward Jackson, who later was a dick toward Jalen. Therefore... My takeaway of provable facts, assuming you trust those who saw the DMs in question: Jalen got pissed and, in private, slammed a non-media Twitter/X guy dude. That's it. That's all anyone here can be certain of. Everything else is nothing more than a lot of "Whoa! OMG! WTF?!" from easily excited people who got their panties all twisted. Seriously, we got people on here guessing that Jalen threatened to murder someone.
but you're missing the context here. jalen has been bricking a ton of 3's. it's not like he's shooting 37% from the arc. he's shooting nearly 7% less than that (gulp). so the faux outrage is fully justified in this case. plus we need to get cam minutes. also just forget about when we thought he was a pu$$y for painting his fingernails. stop bringing up old $hit. the updated talking point now is that he's an aggressive a$$hole. he's an a$$hole who can't make a 3 to save his life. and he must go
I'm not even talking about his play, which has definitely not warranted him remaining in the starting lineup. But the team does have to factor in him being the #2 pick, obviously, or he'd have been benched long ago. So we're in agreement that benching him should be an option at this point. And he's obviously not handling it well. But his immaturity should have been obvious to everyone as far back as his embarrassing display in the slam dunk contest his rookie year. It was all about show with zero substance. What I'm talking about it all the people here and on Twitter/X who are squealing like 7th-grade girls about what an egregious act Jalen has committed. REALLY? Getting pissed at an influencer is somehow more egregious than totally embarrassing the team during All-Star weekend as a rook? On the other hand, I get it. If you spend hours everyday on Rockets Twitter, these guys like Roosh actually seem important.
bro my post was tongue in cheek. if jalen was making 6% more of his 3's nobody would give a F about what he told some bum on twitter/X
None of it is important - but if you are going to be a star, you can't worry about what the general public thinks or says - you need to ignore that, because by and large the negative Nancies are noisier than the positive petes. DD
KD is a sensitive little witch too and can't lead anyone anywhere, he had to join a super team to get a ring.... DD
Those comments may provide insight to how Jalen will react if taken out of the starting role. Insights to what he is thinking. That seems relevant to me.
if he was making 6% more 3's, said twitter bum wouldn't have whined about him -- so which comes first, the rooshter or the egg?
And then there is Jordan the Goat who always cared about what people said and used it as fuel. If Jordan played in today, his Twitter would beef way harder than Durant. It’s not whether you worry / care, it’s about how you choose to respond.
If Ime puts Cam in the Starting lineup (I dont think he will) he need to let Cam know that it's his for the rest of the year. Give him the same opportunity as he did Jalen.
I’m sure you realize how significant a 6% jump in three point shooting actually is in the game of basketball, correct? That’s a pretty massive correction, and would be insanely meaningful to a team’s success particularly from someone who shoots as much as Jalen does. Seems kind of trite to suggest this 6% is like no big deal…it’s a huge deal.
Steph Curry checks it at halftime and never responds…he uses it as fuel. Some guys are wired that way…others probably shouldn't check it.
whether it's 6% or 16%, point is that if he was winning games for us nobody would give a rats ass about what he said to some peon on social media
Some guys have the skills to shut people up with their play and if they choose to chirp back its just a little extra sauce. Steph can use it as fuel and make you eat those words without saying a thing. Jalen cant so hes gotta do what hes gotta do.
