I brought this up in the Ukraine thread that there are Congressional Republicans who will say we need to spend money to help American here and then refuse to vote for spending bills that do that.
Yes, we should not be taking the money from people in the first place. If you want to spend your money helping Ukraine, do that. If you want to spend your money on public education, or supporting the elderly, or on healthcare for other people, do that.

People can often achieve more by working together than they can in just summing their own individual efforts.
Republican don't really want to help anyone but the rich, the oil companies, big corporations, and the NRA. They are all for tax breaks, tax loopholes and cutting safety requirements in the workplace and the environment to cater of the rich corporations. Some love and approve cheap child labor for corporations. They don't care who suffers in the process, whether it's from loose gun laws making it easier for criminals to buy guns, mass shootings, unaffordable physical or mental healthcare, poverty, or an unhealthy and unsafe workplace or environment. Screw the gun victims, the sick, the victims of racism, the kids living in poverty, and the needy. We don't care!
